UPDATE 2: RELEASED Episode 23v3!! THIS IS THE REAL FINAL BATCH!!! God damnit. I just stumbled upon one last tiny error. In Episode 23, the Steins;Sub full English track (third sub track) is off by -500ms during the last 2-3 minutes of dialogue. OCD perfectionist kicked in and I have fixed this. This is the new and final release. The patch (run the bat file with the corresponding file name) and MEGA download of the new episode is below.

**IMPORTANT UPDATE on 8v2, 22v2 & 23v2 (23v3 was released): So I stumbled on to the fact that Episodes 8 & 22 were both missing a single font (leadcoat.tff). However, that font is for the rumbling OP Kfx so it is kind of important. So I’ve made a quick v2 of the the two episodes and have posted them on to MEGA with the new CRCs. I’ve also uploaded the leadcoat.tff font onto MEGA if you just want to mux in the font yourself rather than redownloading or patching the files. Sorry for the mishap! …actually blame BSEnc for not including it in their episodes in the first place :)

For Episode 23v2 (23v3 was released), I realized that it has a similar extended/different ED like Episode 9 during Okabe’s final monologue/actions which wasn’t subbed in either BSEnc or Steins;Sub’s versions. I went into OCD perfectionist mode and had to make it complete. BSEnc & Steins;Sub didn’t sub the ~1-1.5 mins of the song while Okabe is monologuing. I used part of WhyNot’s karaoke but added in the missing romanji and properly styled it like the rest of the EDs. I’ve uploaded pictures of this as well in the “spoilers picture section”. I may rebatch this in the future but for now, just apply the patches or download the files off MEGA.

TL;DR version - Download, Seed & Bask in the Glory of Steins;Gate.

This is the my BD 1080p Hi10p Dual Audio FLAC release of Steins;Gate that I’ve just finished (and planned on for literally forever). It is one of my favorite shows of all time and has an amazing dub to boot so I needed to make an ultimate version for myself. I haven’t found a version that put everything together with the best quality video from the JP-BD, highest audio quality and quality subtitles/karaoke/complete signs with as many options as possible. Also, my files have NO ORDERED CHAPTERS.

This took a really long time because I spent a lot of time perfecting all the subtitles across all the versions especially fixing lots of TS errors on signs, missing signs and extra karaoke effects/lyrics that were missing in both BSEnc’s & Steins;Sub’s subtitles. However, I’ve finally finished this monster. This is the final batch and contains the updated Episode 7v2.

The 1080p version uses Mysilu’s (aka mawen1250) 1080p Hi10p FLAC JP-BD raw which I’ve found to have the best video quality so far. The 5.1 FLAC English audio is from fch1993/phillosophy-raws from the US-BD. The 720p version uses BSEnc’s 720p Hi10p Vorbis JP-BD release which has the best 720p video quality (much better than WhyNot’s release) especially with the banding problems. They used 2.0 Vorbis audio for the Japanese dialogue which allegedly gives a “cooler” sound compared to AAC (I don’t know anything about this but I didn’t want to switch it out or convert it). The 5.1 AAC English audio for the 720p version is from Forge’s US-BD release. The 2.0 AAC English commentaries (in episodes 1, 12, 19 & 24) for both versions come from Forge’s US-BD release.

The subtitles are where I’ve made many significant changes and wanted to provide the best looking, most accurate and most expansive options possible. The best overall script comes from BSEnc which used Commie’s translation and added many TS and karaoke upgrades. WhyNot also used Commie’s script but I found their signs and karaoke to be far inferior to BSEnc’s (it was also ordered chapters which are a pain). Forge used Steins;Sub for their subs and it provided a different translation (less localized) which some may prefer. I actually liked their signs better for the most part especially with regards to the cell phone text (which is about 75% of the signs) compared to Commie’s release, however, their karaoke was ugly as hell and Forge had some serious TS and timing issues along with missing signs and spelling/grammar errors.

For all versions of the scripts (except the Official PGS subs), I’ve used BSEnc’s karaoke for the OP & ED which both include romanji. BSEnc’s OP karaoke has the "rumbling" romanji KFx which was used in the earlier WhyNot releases but with better looking fonts and styling. It’s a badass look and I’ve attached some gifs that show it off (they’re about 20 MBs each though). For the Signs & Songs track, I created a hybrid track using both Steins;Sub’s signs (a lot of the cell phone text) and BSEnc’s signs (most of the other signs) while fixing a lot of the timing and typesetting issues that were left in Forge’s release (there were tons) and those in the BSEnc subs (mostly missing signs and karaoke). I also went through each sign and choose what I thought looked best and used those for the Signs & Songs track and both my modified BSEnc & Steins;Sub tracks.

Both the full English BSEnc & Steins;Sub tracks were modified heavily in order to match for Signs, Karaoke and any TS & timing issues. Missing signs were added into both tracks along with some spelling/grammar corrections. I spent a lot of time adding in extra karaoke in particular for Episode 9 & 23’s ED (you can see the pictures below) and Episode 23 & 24’s OP2 (also in the pics) which had different lyrics and romanji compared to the rest of the episodes. BSEnc didn’t have KFx for the new OP’s romanji so I added in the correct romanji with the rumbling fx and the updated English translation on the bottom as styled in the rest of the episodes.

I also included the Official R1 PGS subs from the US-BD release for those who may want it. Steins;Sub never subbed the OVA so I’ve included BSEnc’s subs (which uses Commie), WhyNot’s translation and the Official subs for the OVA.

This is without a doubt the best version of Steins;Gate and I hope you enjoy it. I QCed this quite a bit and corrected all the timing & TSing issues that I found along with adding the extra signs & karaoke.
