New raws for Engine Sentai Go-Onger
Includes all content from the Bluray box, Super Video DVD, DVD volumes, and Go-Onger content from Gekiranger DVD vol 10. Movie content can be found here.
Video: 10-bit x264. Episodes and episode 1 preview are 720p, the 10th Anniversary Pit In is 1080p, all others are 480p. All extras shot using interlaced cameras are 60fps.
Audio: AAC
Notes: Go-Onger, like all other Sentai from Boukenger-Gobusters was mostly edited in 720p, and bicubic upscaled to 1080p. DebicubicM was uses for the episodes and episode1 preview, so the stuff added at 1080p (mostly text) is clean, while all the 720p content is reverted to its original resolution.
All video extras from the DVD volumes was included on the BDs, but were kept in SD. While some of these may have been made in HD, this is still better than a poor upscale. I’m looking at YOU, Kamen Rider W extras.
Episodes 14 and 22-26 take advantage of Matroska Editions. These episodes on DVD uses the original broadcast EDs and post-OP sponsor videos, while the Blurays use the standard ones. As such, I’ve included both versions in each file. DVD Credits is the default, as five of the six episodes use different music between versions. This should not complicate subbing. The broadcast/DVD sponsor segments and EDs are at the end of the episodes, and can be subbed as usual. Playback will work as intended as long as you keep the chapter and tag entries when the subtitles are muxed in.
“DVD Credits” info:
Episode 14:
ED video is a mix of the HD video fom the Bluray episode, and upscaled 480i footage at 60fps from the broadcast credits extra on the Bluray. All audio taken from Bluray.
Episodes 22-23:
Post-OP sponsor and ED video taken from DVD, at 60fps. Post-Sponsor audio is from Bluray episodes, ED audio is from DVDs.
Episodes 24-25:
Post-OP sponsor video at 24fps and ED video at 60fps taken from DVD, at 24fps. Post-Sponsor audio is from Bluray episodes, ED audio is from DVDs. Both the post-OP sponsor segment and the EDs in these episodes were edited in 30i from telecined footage. The sponsor video was simple to get to a clean 24fps, but the EDs have 30i scrolling credits text. Getting that down to 24fps would cause the text to jump at almost every cut, so I left those at 60fps.
Episode 26:
See episode 14, but upscaled DVD footage was used when the credits text was different from the episode 14 broadcast credits on the BD, and the ED audio was taken from the DVD.
Extras sourced from DVD:
The Super Video was included in the Blurays, but was upscaled from SD. I’ve used the original DVD instead. The credits scroll was originally 30i, so I used ivtc_txt60mc to get is to a smooth 24fps.
The image galleries from the DVD volumes and the two Engine Lap dance videos from Gekiranger DVD Volume 10 were not included on the Blurays. I’ve included them in this batch.
Other:
Pit In 7 was missing the first two frames of the animation at the very start. This is not a mistake of the Blurays, as it was also like that on the DVDs. I’ve pulled those two frames from the prior one to make things consistent.
