皇太后・安氏から依頼された“呪い”の調査の間、猫猫は久しぶりに壬氏の屋敷に滞在することになった。水連の部屋で幼い頃の壬氏について話を聞いている中、猫猫はかつての壬氏のお気に入りの玩具が入っている行李の中から不思議な色の小石を見つける。それは、皇太后が先帝にかけたという“呪い”－先帝の遺体が生前と変わらない姿である謎を解く手がかりだった。猫猫は亡き先帝の秘密、そして呪いの正体を明らかにするため、皇太后や壬氏らと共に先帝の部屋を訪れる。
