RAWs: [kuramori](https://nyaa.si/view/857044)
Subs: [Iznjie Biznjie](https://nyaa.si/view/358535), OP/ED redone by me
So the Iznjie Biznjie release was the only subbed R2JDVD release of this show, but it used linked chapters, which made it unwatchable. So I synced their subs to kuramori's superior (and complete) encode of the R2Js. The subs were basically the R1 script from Funimation's 2009 DVD release (which is all right for the most part), plus episode titles, because those were hardsubbed on the R1, as was the show's main title. The OP/ED had only English translation, and one that practically ignored verse structure. I added Romaji and split/rewrote them to fit more closely with the Japanese verses.
I originally planned to add some more signs (mainly the show title) and edit the subs a bit, but then I realized that I hate this show and that I don't want to work on it for any longer than I need to.
Same story for the English dub and the R1 VobSubs, they don't line up perfectly to the R2, and I can't be arsed to adjust the timings and edit the audio to make them fit (not that I'd know how to edit audio in the first place).
Half the episodes have Japanese commentary tracks, which I left in, but which are untranslated.
And there you have it, Soukou no Strain, a show that is nominally based on A Little Princess, but has practically nothing to do with it beyond some bastardized names and superficial "parallels". It's thoroughly angsty and stupid, visually mediocre at best, and through large stretches simply boring due to aforementioned factors. But hey, at least you can experience all that suck in a slightly less scuffed form now.
