[The Boy and the Heron](https://myanimelist.net/anime/36699/Kimitachi_wa_Dou_Ikiru_ka) This is an SDR encode. The Boy and the Heron was produced in SDR at 2048x1108. For 75% of the movie, it is possible to take the HDR disk and get the original SDR image from it, which has been done here. The other 25% is a patchwork of cope and compromises. It is at least not annoying to watch, but if you have an HDR display, you should definitely download and watch an HDR version of the movie. (Though probably not anything sourced from the JP UHD BD since that seems to have had bad DV metadata.) As for the subtitles, they were largely fine as-is, but the translator was working under some annoying CPS constraints that led to some hilarious caveman-esque lines, so I did my best to reverse that. I also added an honorifics track for what it's worth, but don't expect things like Bocchan to be in it. Finally—and I'm actually really sorry about this—this release only contains 2.0 audio. For audio that suits your needs, please wait for the inevitable version of this release with dub. (I don't think the 7.1 TrueHD track can be reencoded, meaning that I'd have to include a 4GB audio track that is useless to me.) > CPS? Basically, the translator was forced to make lines short so that illiterate audiences could read them in theaters.
Thank you for attempting to fix the subs. Do you think you'll make an MTBB release? I don't give a crap about encodes and grain and haloing and debanding. All I care about is quality subs, and I think there's a good chance that some people will find typos to be fixed or subtitle improvements that can be made and applied to the eventual MTBB release, so that's why I'm asking. I've waited almost 14 years to binge the Evangelion movies in Blu-ray and I'm still waiting to play the Tsukihime Remake since 2008, so I'm patient and I don't mind if it takes months or years to watch a Ghibli movie with proper English subs. Also, thank you for the release!

I have never made a MTBB release after making an Okay-Subs release. Perhaps someone else will improve on these subs.
