I just wanted to write a project post-mortem of sorts. This is my first time writing one of these, so forgive me if it’s a bit rambling. Actually, this project as a whole was a lot of firsts for me, so it’s quite fitting that it gets the first post-mortem. Frieren was my first time working on a multi-cour series, the first originally-translated release under the [9volt] name, and my first time working with so many people and positions. And for that, it’s a small miracle that we were able to release all 28 episodes in a timely manner. Of course, none of it would’ve been possible without the wonderful people in the credits here. So, I would like to thank them: Yon - You were the beating heart of this release. I don’t know what was going through your mind when you offered to translate a 28-episode long series, but I could never thank you enough for it. Truly, thank you for everything you’ve done. Kashi - For all your mostly-invisible work keeping Yon and myself in check, thank you. Rcombs - Some might consider your QC style as “editor 2,” but when it comes to creating the best possible release, would we really want anything else? Your insightful suggestions were very much appreciated, so thank you for always going above and beyond. Sam - Thank you for giving this beautiful anime the encoding treatment it deserved. Ayanami & Asakura - Thanks for all your effort in the largely-overshadowed quality checking department :) Seigyoku - I think you might’ve had the most repetitive job here, all the signs were the same every episode (joy). Thanks for your hard work! Pookie - Timing is one of the “invisible” jobs, people only notice it if it’s bad - And I don’t see anybody complaining! Zed - Though you were only directly involved with the songs, your help with that and your general insight in the project channel was always appreciated. You, the viewer - Thank you for taking the time to read this, and thank you for choosing our release. Your continued support throughout the past 24 weeks was great motivation!
