Okay, so you remember the story on how all the Cyber Trance music that plays throughout the series was replaced for the English release? Well...
Thanks to a lot of editing on my part, all 12 episodes now have an alternate English track where Trance music plays, just like in the original Japanese broadcast. And the Japanese track included comes from the rental DVDs (those are PCM stereo), and those have the Trance songs.
Now, to make this work, luckily, the original English track was recorded in 5.1, which means that you can extract the center track that has all the vocals. So I did that, then I took the Japanese audio files and synced them up to the video. Then, to bridge it all, I had to find various sound effects and music files, and those music files had to be adjusted to the correct speeds and edited to match how the song was structured in each episode, if I wanted to make this as seamless as possible. The other downside was that the center track still has some traces of the replaced music, but to my surprise, I was able to drown out a vast majority of it with my editing. You'll still hear some remnants of the replacement music, but it's very rare. And in episode 2, I had to remove one line of dialogue during the Trance sequence where the fangs are being powered up: "Power output at 80%. All systems go.", because the center track has its dialogue way too quiet for my liking, and if I amplified it enough to be heard with the SFX I chose, it'd just come out messy. As a result, unfortunately, the original 5.1 English track, with the replacement music, will be the default track, if it's all the dialogue you need. Luckily, that line I removed was very minor, so it shouldn't affect your viewing experience all that much if you so choose the second audio track with English dialogue and Trance music.
The video source is the ADV Films release, now out of print.
Also, for the subs. For the Japanese previews beginning from (I think?) episode 7 onwards, its dialogue starts later than the Japanese track included on the ADV release, but fortunately, the discs had SRT subs, which I was able to easily edit and touch up.
