Like [Kanon 2006](https://nyaa.si/view/1634917), fractional res turns out to be an important concept for encoding Clannad since the aliasing is constantly so bad. [Comparisons to JPBD and JySzE](https://slow.pics/c/nBI8XumP) Next up on the KyoAni fractional res tour is Clannad After Story and Hyouka, since Nichijou is not fractional res, K-On! requires heavy debanding scenefiltering work that I'm not prepared to do, and Haruhi is pointless without also doing the DVD episodes.

I would say this is epic but, Opus...
embrace the opussy
opus is gigabased
glorious opusness
only brainlets hate opus
@zrdb Are you retarded? Opus is great. motbob however should've opted-in to 768kbps.
No I'm not but I think degrading audio quality just to save a tiny amount of space is fucking stupid! Why do think mp3, aac, opus and any other lossy codec you care to name is inferior to the original lossless source for god's sake?
Waiting for Nazaki so I can actually watch this shitty show
@zrdb With all due respect, I have yet to see someone actually pass Opus 192kbps ABX with log. All the people who have made this kind of stink about lossy audio have been unable to back up any claims of noticeable quality degradation. And all those who do actually ABX seem over time to have changed to lossy formats. It's really just the same principle at play as with using lossy video encoding over lossless video encoding after filtering. On that note, even the most bloated video encodes on this site are usually far less transparent to their source than a 192kbps Opus encode is to its source (assuming 2.0 audio). The idea is to save space where doing so has no actual drawbacks to a playback experience, be it in terms of video or audio (or, in some instances, subs as well). Because, if it has no drawback to playback, it really has no drawback at all. If the idea is to preserve the highest possible quality of a given show, what you should be preserving are BDMVs and encode scripts. Not video encodes that are filtered and lossy to source. I recommend you un-placebo your brain by trying an extensive foobar abx, and then after getting things right slightly more than standard deviation if you get lucky, considering if that kind of clinical comparison is anything like the experience of watching something in the first place. To anyone who has done this it should be blatantly obvious how silly this constant bemoaning of lossy audio encoding is.
@zrdb imagine being this retarded. also you upload bloated and untagged WAVs so your opinion doesn't matter
> When you "re-encode" something and convert from lossless to lossy audio that's just fucking idiotic any way one looks at it. -@zrdb What’s next? Video should be lossless too?
>Hyouka oh yeah, I'm thinking he's based
inb4 zrdb was never heard from again. Or zrdb doesn't post results from https://abx.digitalfeed.net/opus.html
I'd really recommend foobar with proper log instead.
OPUS chad, fuck flactards. Yes, I capitalize OPUS. Suck a fat one, you bastards.
flac niggas on nyaa really out here watching anime with a $900 DAC/AMP setup so they can hear the moment the clock ticks for a girl becoming too old for them. Better start working on those haruhi dvd episodes fucker
Thanks! ~~Also what oosik said~~

Trusted
Poking me about Haruhi DVD encodes isn't going to accomplish anything. Poke Zewia instead.
To be fair, opus quality at 192 kbps is identical to aac lc at the same rate, opus is only useful at very bitstarved bitrates.
Thanks this looks great.
