For windows users, run this script in PowerShell to remove other useless data and save almost another gigabyte (remove the first line if you have mkvtoolnix installed via a powershell package manager like choco, or change it if you have MKVToolNix installed somewhere else). If you have ADD or a reading disability you probably don't want to run this script. The english accessibility tracks are there for you. Don't run this on the OVA files. It applies to the TV series files only. If you accidentally run this script on the OVA files, the originals will still be there, so just delete the broken output files if any are created. $env:Path += ";C:\Program Files\MKVToolNix\" $files = Get-ChildItem -Include *.mkv -Name -Recurse | Sort-Object Foreach ($Item in $files) {mkvmerge -o cleaned/$Item -a 2 --default-track 2 -s 4 --default-track 4 $Item} (note to laymen: This won't work for every release, you have to change the mkvmerge options for other releases, but I'm not going to write a tutorial here. Don't fuck your shit up).
If only they would finish this, but that can be said about countless other Anime that were left open ended on ep12. You know if you simply encoded your files using standard codecs. The same type(avc8bit) that the entire media world uses there wouldn't be a need for special instructions. And if you increase the frame rate from 24(23.97) to 60fps. Picture quality is no different than hevc or h10. Just using common sense is all. But since nobody even tests to see the difference. There all stuck watching the one and only way to play files. Instead of enjoying being able to watch on 99% of every kind of media playing in the world. I say this only because it makes no sense to limit how Anime can be watched to a single method.

@NetGhost Drifters season 2 is scheduled for 2023 unless it gets delayed again. AV1 is a standard codec because Amazon, Apple, ARM, Cisco, Facebook, Google, Huawei, Intel, Microsoft, Mozilla, Netflix, Nvidia, Samsung Electronics and Tencent say so. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alliance_for_Open_Media It's faster to decode than hevc and is supported by almost every media player except Plex, including, but not limited to: mpv, vlc, potplayer. Multiple third party studies show an efficiency increase of at least 30% over hevc. Overall, I'm not sure if you're trolling. But I can agree that some people like the look of 60fps anime. ![yep](https://i.imgur.com/pwH7uCY.jpg)
@NetGhost Please stop. You know if you simply encoded your files using standard codecs. The same type(MPEG-2 8-bit) that the entire media world uses there wouldn’t be a need for special instructions. And if you increase the frame rate from 24(23.97) to 60fps. Picture quality is no different than avc or h265. Just using common sense is all. But since nobody even tests to see the difference. There all stuck watching the one and only way to play files. Instead of enjoying being able to watch on 100% of every kind of media playing in the world. I say this only because it makes no sense to limit how Anime can be watched to a single method.
damn man i dont like this one either hope someone makes one i can play
What did you do to episode 12... i had to trim it at the end for the sub credits cause it refused to be converted to another format after 93% it woulndt even play until i trimmed it down to a 24 minute duration play rate. i appreciate your efforts but i think you should change the format you used it feels like a 10bit hevc

"What did you do to episode 12" You mean "What did karios do to episode 12?" All I did was feed the mkv files from the karios release into av1an. Unless the av1an output was borked somehow. "i think you should change the format you used" Not gonna change what video codec I use just because people won't update to the latest mpv/vlc lol And you're re-encoding my release? Why not just use the files from the karios release?
@lastbreeze if your gonna re-encode it from another release ...use bluray raws cause otherwise its likely been re-encoded 3 times
I don't understand how you can encode in AV1 and still end up with these enormous file sizes

Yeah it's super weird when you apply a setting of something like, as an example, cq20, and the video encoding software adjust the bitrate accordingly to maintain the requested quality. Also weird how av1 encoding software from two years ago is less efficient than the options we have today. I guess some things can't be explained. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
