Ninja Ryukenden (Ninja Gaiden): The Dragon Sword Story OVA 1991
This is a LaserDisc capture of the 1991 OVA Ninja Ryukenden, animated by Studio Junio and based on the now legendary video game series known in the West as NINJA Gaiden. It follows Dragon Ninja Ryu as he and his friends attempt to solve the mystery of Ned Friedman, a scientist who's supposedly found a cure for cancer. Little do they know that it runs far deeper than they ever imagined.
This LaserDisc was obtained by KiddoCabbusses, who allowed us to capture it through the Domesday Duplicator. As a result, the visual quality surpasses that of older, traditional captures and encodes, and now this OVA looks as good as it possibly can unless the original film elements are restored. The colors were slightly balanced, but otherwise nothing about the original capture was altered in any way.

downloaded that from the mega ddl. Its frankly shit compared to this one. Worse over all quality and horridly black crushed. dont waste your time people. Just get this.
Yes let's all bitch about shit that doesn't make a difference instead of actually watching it and noting how much better it looks and sounds than any other previous version. Classic Nyaa!
@Reza27
Raw captures are hundreds of gigabytes + the encode actually looks good, but you wouldn't know since you're going autistic over the settings rather than just watching it like a normal person.

Doesn't make a difference? It's full of compression artifacts...
Of course it looks better than anything previously but its such a shame that someone did a Domesday rip just to ruin the image in this way...
> Raw captures are hundreds of gigabytes
We know.
> the encode actually looks good
It does not.
if its so good can I get a comp from the raw files to the encode? several of the settings there such as the mbtree, high crf considering the resolution, and the awful psy settings, aq mode 1, and the max bitrate that is fairly low (imo), are guaranteed to cause very large amounts of compression artifacts.
looks good lmao. I understand the noise because its an LD but this is completely bitstarved as well

> Completely bitstarved
> uses screenshot from action heavy scene and only has extremely minimal macroblocking that's only noticeable if you pixel peep
Yeah, sure. That's *definitely* bitstarved.
every part of the video looks awful, not just this one scene. I also dont need to pixel peep to see how bad it is. if you do thats just a skill issue really
the genre has nothing to do with using transparent encode settings. also I have more BD and DVD rips done then web so not sure how that matters either.
Petty insults like that achieves nothing.
Fix your settings and not only will people give you more praise but people will also be able to enjoy a better release.
Both sides would win.
