you really should rip the BD itself, especially since it's (as far as i know) the only BD to include the special.
^^ also do you have Part 4 Japanese release by Discotek? That version has the best subs but haven't found it on any trackers
how do you know it has the best subs if you can't find it? also i'd be pretty surprised if it was better than commie tbh.
@herkz Because the UK/FR BD by AL uses the Crunchy subs while the Discotek BD has subs that have been QC'd as translate the insert songs and much more of the signs.

@herkz I included the special.
>while the Discotek BD has subs that have been QC’d as translate the insert songs and much more of the signs. i'm sure they are the best official subs, but i doubt they can beat fansubs, so i still don't understand why you'd want them. > I included the special. yeah but the quality is horrible. that's why you should at least rip the untouched video/audio for the special.

The quality isn't terrible. The unprocessed file is nearly 5 GB
200mb for 1080p with two audio tracks is horrible quality. also it being 5gb is good.

It's 367 MB HEVC. The least popular releases are raws.

https://imgur.com/a/5QJWxUp I am not saying it's perfect. In gradients like Fujiko's hair, you can notice some processing sure
>It’s 367 MB HEVC. even 367mb for 1080p would be really small. my 720p encode of the special from a harder to compress source is 500mb. > The least popular releases are raws. no idea what you mean by that but if you don't want to upload the untouched file for the special then just say so. someone else probably will eventually.
I'd also be interested in the raw BDMV...

What application do you use to encode? 5GB for one file is not worth it to me. I already deleted the originals because it took over 100GB. I admit the encoding could be better and I want my releases to improve. If you have recommendations I am happy to listen. Sorry about my attitude.
upload the raw so herkz can make a good encode edit: nvm u deleted them. Sad.

I could re-rip them but I would like to learn for myself how to make a great encode. I don't think herkz wants to spend time encoding my files.
My 2 cents: learning how to encode requires time, money (for a good rig), effort, and knowledge. Ask around in some discords for help, produce a lot of test encodes, read some good guides... and meanwhile, upload the raws for those who are already knowledgeable enough to produce good encodes.
the point of uploading the untouched file is so people can do their own encodes how they want to their own encoding preferences. sometimes that could even be years later. also like i said this BD is the only good source of the special. in japan it was only released on DVD, and there's one decent quality streaming source for it. that's it, so this BD should blow it out of the water. also it's not like you need to upload every episode. the quality of these discs is probably worse than the japanese BDs otherwise. anyway, i've been encoding for like 10 years now and i'm only decent so there's no fast way to learn. it takes a ton of practice to even begin to know what to look for and how to deal with it.
wtf semireal typesetting from bluray subs????
BD subs are literally just images. you can make them look like anything you want. so actually it's kinda bad.

The BD subs on this release are nothing compared to what I have seen can be done, but it's nice that there was effort put in.
Can you check Future Boy Conan torrent? The subs aren't loading there.
@herkz well I know that, but I was using Blu-ray subs as a catch-all for "corporate subs".
