@Simplistic I don't understand your issue. There's only two sub tracks. Why does the order matter? The defaults are always paired correctly.

In retrospect, it's a pretty petty thing to "complain" about, [but it's slightly annoying to have to click an extra time for the Japanese subs](https://files.catbox.moe/egjhom.mp4) just because Funimation puts the subs in a weird order. (Though I'm assuming there's a perfectly valid reason to do so, it just doesn't translate well into computer watching.) There's a 100% chance that I could easily change MPV to cycle instead of toggle, but I believe It's something that should be fixed on the muxing side. Also, I've had this complaint for a while as you're clearly not the only one who "leaves it as it is." So don't feel like I'm targeting you personally, I'm just finally voicing my opinion on it.

I don't disagree with you (due to being an MPC user), but you can right click in MPV to go back through the audio/subs rather than forward. I can understand why one might not want to fix the ordering though, as unless you're directly muxing the m2ts from the disc itself via MKVToolNix (and using say, MakeMKV) then the resulting file will be setup the same way as it's presented on disc. Fixing the order would require a second remux for every file as far as I'm aware.

You could always just change the Default sub and audio track with mkvpropedit, although that means the torrent won't match up if you ever want to resend it. I know where you're coming from ( or I think I do) since I too am a sub watcher so when it comes to these releases which have Default English signs subs and Default English audio, I have to change. The audio issue is easy as you can easily set your player to Default to Japanese every time. That's what I've set all my media players to, from infuse on iOS, to MPV and nPlayer. As for the sub issue, thats a little complicated, as since most dual audio releases usually set the signs and songs track as Default and since it too has the English language tag same as the default dialogue subs, the players think that's the one you want. Some release groups solve this issue by setting the English dialogue track with the Japanese language tag, so for me in all my players I've set the sub defaults in the order of Jap, und (for MPV), English. If they are both Signs&Songs and dialogue are set to English, then you just gotta do it manually, or most of the time I'd have external ass tracks since I personally don't like PGS subs anyway. I can't complain to the uploader since well, it's their release, and I can only appreciate getting the stuff since jts all free so thanks npz.

well, with multiple audio/subs, going through extra steps will always be required if the defaults don't match your preferences. @nya_zim if there's a way to launch a player with preset tracks to use via command line, then it would be possible to use mediainfo or mkvinfo to parse metadata to obtain track names and grep for the track names you want for the sub tracks. for what it's worth, I set defaults according to the canonical / in-universe language of the show.

I've remuxed enough crapamation blurays to know the subtitle and audio order. The bottom sub is the default signs & music track while the top one is full subtitles. Don't give a shit about the japanese audio since I leave it out when I remux the m2ts to mkv.
