AT-X raws have been detelecined, and upscaled from the wonky 1440x1080 resolution to full 1920x1080p using Topaz Video Enhance, which uses AI deep learning. It also does a really good job at deblocking, denoising and sharpening without losing any detail.
SubsPlease source has also been run through the Video Enhance filter to clean up blocky artifacts and banding effects.

This one is immensely better. If I got this guy right, video quality speaking he uses SubPlease version as base since the censored version has better quality than the uncensored from which Zastin uses. He takes out the censored parts from SubPlease and adds the uncensored parts from the uncensored version that Zastin users, he than tweaks the uncensored parts so that they look as closely possible to quality of the rest of episode. The subs last time I checked are, Rem Rom are better than Zastin

I tested it in MPV, and plays perfectly fine for me, Al-tough the version of MPV I have installed is one that SVP (SmoothVideo Project) installed, which it uses for transcoding video.
Maybe try doing a clean reinstall of MPV or try another player. I personally prefer using MPC-BE with the MadVR filter plugin.

Yep that's basically how I do it. Al-tough I think Zastin does similar with mixing the HiDive and AT-X sources.
Heh and some say Zastin's subs are better. Though I haven't done any real side by side comparison of which subs are better. And personally I don't really care which is better as long as it's translated well enough that it doesn't feel like you're going retarded when trying to read it ?.
My main issue I have with Zastin's release is that they take too friggin long to release. Which is also kinda what made me start releasing it myself as I couldn't be arsed to wait whatever ages it took for a HQ release. And thought, fuck it! I'll just do it myself ?
Funny bit is that I didn't even know of the Zastin release until a bit after I started doing my release. Mainly because they always too so long to release, which made me always not notice their release on searches...

These are my current settings. Did a complete overhaul of them recently
And I have none of the trade quality for performance options ticked in.
You will need a pretty beefy GPU to handle the image upscaling settings
Do note that all my screenshots above where taken with these options turned off.
@DefNotRok There's not really a good video player, if you had the codec or if it's integrated, all video player can read it... & effect is useless just option fot manything or if you had bad eyes... & VLC is more little shit because you can not see any error in the video... First time I use VLC, I watch a movie who was downloaded perfectly without error, zero problem but after I convert it, the video got many "bug" picture really weird & so I use MPC-HC to read the original video & then with it I could see this all same "bug" exactly in the same place...
