AT-X raws have been deinterlaced, and upscaled from the wonky 1440x1080i resolution to full 1920x1080p using Topaz Video Enhance, which uses AI deep learning. It also does a really good job at deblocking, denoising and sharpening without losing any detail.
SubsPlease source has also been run through the Video Enhance filter to clean up blocky artifacts and banding effects.

Went a bit extra on this one. I used the SubsPlease release as a base, and painstakingly went through and marked all the censored parts. Then replaced only those scenes with the AT-X uncensored raws. And both sources has ben run through the Video Enhance AI to clean up all the artifacts.
Why did you choose to do it that way instead of use an uncensored raw? unless there was some important reason it sound like unnecessary trouble, anyway thx for this & keep up the good work :)
Partly because the raws where already so late. I ended up just throwing the SubsPlease release into the Video Enhance software overnight. Then when the AT-X raws popped up at the morning, I only needed to rip out the censored parts and process those. Plus the SubsPlease version has noticeable better quality than the AT-X raws.
Only time consuming part for me was skimming though the video and marking the censored parts. But this only took about an hour or so of work. And the end results is overall much better.
If the raws are early next week, ill probably do the same again. As it doesn't add that much more work. And because the raws usually come out late at the evening or next morning. I end up with the whole night where I can process the video over anyways.

Mostly default settings on artifact removal.
Default debanding str: low. Str during fade in/out: high
And reduce compression artifacts is set to 1, and the "activate only if it comes free" is ticked in.
No image enhancements.
And as for scaling, only the Chroma upscaling is being used according to video stats, as I'm playing it at native res. And for chorma upscale I use NGU sharp, high quality.

Think i'll mostly focus on interesting series I like that have been heavily censored, and where the uncensored raws are low quality and in need of some extra effort.
Other series you mentioned already look fine enough imo with SubsPlease release.
Have finished watching this. Great job man, you blended the two sources really well, seemed like I was watching the Uncensored BD's. Really glad it was in this episode you did this, since it had a long sword fight which in the AT-X release it may look worse, hope you could keep this up.

The subs Ember uses are from Zastin. But if you don't mind doing the ending. then I can add them as well. Though ep6 is basically ready for release now. so i will be releasing it shortly.
