This video encode combines the bitrate and bright details present in the R2J Dragon Boxes with the dark details present in the R1 Dragon Boxes. A complete write-up of the process and details of how the merge was done can be found at the write-up [here](https://jysze.github.io/SoM-DBZ-Merge/mergeproject/R1R2.pdf). The encode was made with a definitive release in mind. Episode 291 contains the GT Preview. [Comparison Pics](https://slow.pics/c/3sReFmpR) Note that the TV Specials are sourced entirely from the R2J Dragon Boxes but contain various video fixes. ### Audio | Episodes | Lang | Source | Source Media | Channels | Format | Provided by | Sync by |:---------------:|:---------:|:-----------:|:------------:|:------------:|:--------------:|:-----------:|:----------------:| | 1-291, SP1-2 | JPN | 1989-96 Original Broadcast Audio (Fuji, Ishikawa, Tokai) | VHS/Beta TV Rips | Mono | FLAC | Kei17 | Team-Mirolo | 1-291, SP1-2 | ENG | 2007-09 FUNi “Remastered” Dub (Kikuchi Score) | Season Sets BD | 5.1 Surround | FLAC | SoM TC | Deli | 1-291, SP1-2 | ENG | 2013-14 FUNi “Remastered” Dub (Replacement Score) | Season Sets BD | 2.0 Stereo | FLAC | SoM TC | Kratos | 1-67 | ENG | 1996-98 edited Saban/Ocean Dub | Rock The Dragon DVDs | 2.0 Stereo | AC3 | omar1st | iKaos | 67-291, SP1-2 | ENG | 1999-2003 Original FUNi Dub | Singles DVDs | 2.0 Stereo | AC3 | Nyaa | iKaos | 1-291, SP1-2 | JPN | 2003 Dragon Box | DVD Box | 2.0 Stereo | AC3 | Nyaa | -- | 1-27 | ENG | 2005 FUNi Ultimate Uncut Dub | UUE DVDs | 5.1 Surround | AC3 | N12 | iKaos | SP1-2 | ENG | 2001 AB Groupe “Big Green” Dub | NE DVDs | 2.0 Stereo | AC3 | SoM TC | iKaos | 120 | -- | 2000 Faulconer Prod. Isolated Score | CD | 2.0 Stereo | FLAC | BakaBT | iKaos **Notes:** 1. Japanese Broadcast Audio is sourced from AnimeMaakuo’s and HKB’s leaks and since video-synced by Team Mirolo. A patch provided by Johnster was used to adjust the timings of the OPs to match the video. Episodes 2, 229, and 237 use cassette and CD sources that are superior to the BA. 2. The “Remastered” Dub with original Kikuchi score is taken from the Season Set Blu-Rays and manually synced by Deli. The Menza OPs have been replaced with the Japanese OPs. Japanese NEPs have been added from the BA track. Deli also re-added the insert songs into episodes 20, 27, 28, and 46. 3. I created a new 5.1 mix for the insert songs in episodes 139 and 184, reducing excess dialogue as needed. The original mixes are available in the EXTRAS folder. 4. The “Remastered” Dub with replacement scores (Johnson for 1-67, Faulconer Productions for 68-291) is from the Season Sets and was synced by [Kratos](https://nyaa.si/view/1248631). I added an instrumental track to cover the silence that occurs during the NEP. 5. The Saban/Ocean Dub is a heavily edited dub of the first 67 (edited down to 53) episodes of the series. It has been reconstructed here with the FUNi/Kikuchi dub to fill in the gaps. While great care was taken to create seamless transitions, the very nature of the edits sometimes makes this difficult. An extended version of “Rock The Dragon” is used for the OP and an instrumental version of Zenkai Power is used for the ED. 6. The Original FUNi Dub track uses elements from the singles DVDs as well as occasional TV and VHS recordings to present the original version of the dub as it existed before the 2007 partial redub. This dub actually begins in the middle of episode 67 resulting in a split Ocean/OG Dub track for that episode. Most episodes have NEPs pulled from TV airings, along with narration for episodes 67-69 and 172-194 with original narrator Dale Kelly. Extended versions of the Faulconer OPs are used along with instrumentals of the Japanese EDs. See the changes document for episodes that are still missing NEPs. 7. Episodes 1-27 feature a 5.1 FUNi dub track with replacement score by Nathan Johnson. This track comes from the UUE DVDs and is notable for being the only 5.1 mix of the dub with a replacement score. 8. The Japanese audio from the R2J Dragon Box is presented as-is with no re-timings. 9. Episode 120 contains a track of the isolated Faulconer Productions score as originally released on the Trunks Compendium CD. 10. The TV Specials also feature a TV edit version of the FUNi dub with some different musical choices, along with the AB Groupe (Big Green) dub as released on DVD in Europe. ### Subtitles | Episodes | Style | Format | Main Styler |:--------:|:-------------------------------------------------------:|:------:|:-----:| | 1-291, SP1-2 | Stylized OP/ED, OP Credits, Titles, Signs, and Dialogue | ASS | corre / iKaos | 1-291, SP1-2 | Basic Subtitles | ASS | iKaos | 1-291, SP1-2 | Stylized OP/ED, OP Credits, Titles, Signs, Inserts, and NEPs | ASS | corre / iKaos | 1-291, SP1-2 | English Dubtitles | ASS | OnionEclipse *OP and ED styling assistance from AnimeAjay. OP credits timed and stylized by dubudavid. Names and romanization contributions from AnimeAjay, dubudavid, Romao, Herms, and SaiyaJedi. Timings contributed by Team Mirolo. OCR originally done by Romao. Signs originally created by Evoshare.* **Notes:** 1. The dialogue for all subs are based on Steve Simmons’s official FUNi translation, however extensive changes were made to OP and ED song translations and name romanizations and translations in an effort to preserve accuracy and puns/double meanings. Name changes previously done for DB carry over here. Refer to the merge PDF under video for more sub info. 2. corre has done extensive work on stylizing the OP, ED, episode titles and signs to look similar to the Japanese text. See [here](https://imgur.com/a/au7sVch) 3. If stylized subs aren’t your thing, I have included more basic subs for those who want them. These have the same name and romanization changes as the stylized subs. Additionally the original SRT subs video-synced by Team Mirolo are included in the Extras folder, with no changes. 4. Episode 269 features different dialogue in one scene between the BA and DBOX - a separate subtitle track exists for this purpose. 5. **For best stylized sub viewing, please use the VSFilter renderer on MPC-HC, or MPV.** Link for [VSFilter](https://www.videohelp.com/software/VSFilter-DirectVobSub). English dubtitles for the series were synced by OnionEclipse. They are timed and contain the dialogue for the remastered dub, with the exception of the specials which were OCRed and synced by me from the singles DVDs. ### Extras I’ve collected a few supplemental things, although it is by no means completely exhaustive. List will go in the comments. ### Thanks A lot of people helped make this a reality, see the full list [here](https://pastebin.com/0aiCQJdN). ### Possible Questions **OMG THE SIZE IS HUGE WHY THERE SO MUCH BLOAT WTF THIS IS A RIDICULOUS WASTE OF SPAC-----** Here, [this is probably more your speed](https://nyaa.si/view/291482). **Ok, I’ve calmed down. I still think it’s kind of big considering a remux is half this size.** That’s a valid concern, however note that because the video contains detail and information from two different Dragon Box sources, the size will naturally be bigger in order to preserve as much detail as possible. Please see the PDF in the video section above for more detail. I realize that my older encodes were much smaller, but honestly this is kind of a different beast and is meant for people who want quality. I do plan on releasing a smaller encode eventually. **Why didn’t you use the 30th Anniversary 1080p release? It’s HD!** Because it goes out of its way to destroy detail. There is already an encode of it on Nyaa. **All these English dubs, where is the Westwood Dub?** Beyond the fact that I personally have little interest in the dub, the sources for it vary and new sources are appearing all the time, including within the last month. I do know there are projects going on right now to organize and sync the dub to better video, however I am not currently affiliated with it. Obviously to include the dub here would require much more time than I’m comfortable with. **Why is there aliasing?** MPC has a poor upscaler, try using [MPV with spline36](https://mega.nz/folder/SN9gAKxI#5HSDWDSoFc7dPzcTk9BHjw/file/6A8RUKpa). **The subtitles don’t look right!** Make sure you’re using MPV, or MPC with VSFilter. You can find VSFilter [here](https://www.videohelp.com/software/VSFilter-DirectVobSub). While other players or configurations may work, different players handle blur and sizing differently and so your results may look different than those presented in the example. ![Ginyu](https://i.imgur.com/OoShXPP.png)

#### EXTRAS DESCRIPTIONS: 1. **English OPs, EDs, Promos:** various promotional materials related to the English dubs. Most of these things came from YouTube, TV Rips, or official DVDs. 2. **Fanmade EDs:** SoM member dubudavid/nemu made these fantastic fanmade OPs for various Dragon Ball arcs, so I decided to include them here for fun. 3. **JPN Previews:** previews and promotional materials related to the Japanese release, including NEPs that were only broadcast on TV and not included on the Dragon Box, various commercials and previews both in their original state when available, or as recreated by fans when necessary. 4. **NCOPs-NCEDs:** no-credit OPs and EDs taken from the highest quality sources available (Levels and Dragon Box). 5. **SRT Subtitles:** Team Mirolo released their own re-timed subtitles to go with their BA. As mentioned above no changes have been made to these subs whatsoever. 6. **Unmodified English Tracks:** if for some reason you want the original English dub tracks for 139 and 184 without insert songs added or with the original dialogue intact, then here they are. 7. **Dragon Book:** These are scans of the R1 Dragon Books included with the English versions of the Dragon Boxes. These were originally gathered from Nyaa and re-organized into PDFs.

WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAOOOOOOOOOO! YEAH BABY! That's what I've been waiting for! That's what it's all about! WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAOOOOOOOOOO!
Amazing! LET'S GOOOOOO!
Thank you for this wonderful release. I’m glad I could help in some way :D
Well, it's actually here! A HUGE thank you to iKaos, JySzE, Romao and all the the cool people involved for crafting this behemoth of a release!
Finally, it's all here in it's completed form! This is the Magnum Opus of SoM releases.
Thanks for all the amazing work guys. I think i can safely say that i feel good about doing my first official rewatch since childhood.
im going to need a hard drive for this beast to fit :D
I still remember finding your original quad audio release and now this, amazing work congratulations and thank you very much
LET'S GOOOO THANK YOU!!!
Can u please Upload all Movies in 4:3 and 16:9, Would be so Awesome to have all Movies in different ratio. SD and/or HD. Thank u very much :)
Thanks to everyone involved in this release! Looking forward to watching this. @iKaos Also: I think the discord link is broken?
Are the subs of this release the same as the ones in the non-dubbed release? Thanks for the great work btw.
@Danielosama Yes, both releases use the exact same subtitles for the Japanese translation. For a bit more info, the original Funimation subtitles were used as a base and remain largely unchanged with the exception of a variety of names of characters/locations we felt could be translated more accurately, and general cleanups of some awkward translations. All name changes that already existed in the Dragon Ball release carry over to this release as well, for consistency.
I don't plan on downloading the first 39 episodes. I still have your original Level Set video for them and I'd rather keep them that way but should I download this for the rest of the other episodes? I'm assuming these are an updated version of the other dragon box releases you've done.
wow you really went above and even further beyond with this release. Won't be downloading it (no space) but thanks for the hard work and the release
New Discord Link, by the way: https://discord.gg/B9W2ca2R8s I'll let JySzE and iKaos know to update it in their torrent descriptions.
Thank you to everyone who worked on this great release!
As someone who has watched Dragon Ball Z since it debuted on Cartoon Network, words cannot express how amazing of a job you guys have done. You are doing work that bigger companies should have been doing. You guys put love and care into your work and it absolutely shows. Thank you so much for giving us the definitive Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z experience
The amount of research and effort that has gone into this release is frankly amazing. This is exactly the kind of preservation effort that a show of Dragon Ball & Z's significance deserves. This far surpasses my feeble attempt of manually syncing the broadcast audio to my R1 (and then all over again for R2J) Dragon Box rips in terms of quality and accuracy. I will be seeding this as long as I can (after I write up some batch scripts to re-mux them with my preferred audio and subtitle combination) Seriously, merging the 2 Dragon Box sources' video together seems like sorcery to me. I've always noticed the brightness difference, but always defaulted to R2J since the R1 episodes until around the early Buu saga have edge enhancement applied which really kills the image quality when upscaled. Also, this release seems to have fixed a really stupid and OCD pet peeve of mine with the R2J footage, that little rectanlge area in the upper left corner that looks like 2 block talls and 3 blocks wide where the image seems a little smudgy.
This is a historic moment. Thank you for all your work, guys!
Thanks iKaos & SoM for this release! I'm so grateful that I can watch this series in the best possible quality! Now's time for a rewatch!
Amazing, thank you! Thanks to all the SoM members and people that make stuff like this possible and public!
@dubudavid Thank you very much for the detailed answer.
For the sake of 146.1 GB, might as well get this instead. Much more complete albeit not perfect (that'd be color correction), but better than any official release. I'll be grabbing it whenever I've got time. Thanks.
?????????? good shit go౦ԁ sHit? thats ✔ some good??shit right??there??? right✔there ✔✔if i do ƽaү so my self ? i say so ? thats what im talking about right there right there (chorus: ʳᶦᵍʰᵗ ᵗʰᵉʳᵉ) mMMMMᎷМ? ?? ?НO0ОଠOOOOOОଠଠOoooᵒᵒᵒᵒᵒᵒᵒᵒᵒ? ?? ? ? ? ? ? ? ??Good shit
gonna seed this to kingdom come
WOW, I never thought I'd see the day when we get a decent DBZ release, and it's not from Funi or Toei either! You've done fantastic work on these episodes and I can't wait to watch them in all their glory!! I do have a question though, you used the Dboxes as source right? I know that their are some issues with the coloration on those, do these episodes have the corrected broadcast colors? If not, are there any tools I can use to correct the colors myself?
@Vhagar read the description and the pdf file
After so long, it's finally here! Thank you everyone for all your work. Also, in before v4 due to minor mistakes have it all be re-released.
Can anyone here re-upload Seed of Might's Kai 1.0 JP BD torrent and or their Dragon Ball Movie 4 Funi Single DVD version please?
HOLY. Gonna make some space. THANK YOU
I guess it's time for me to replace Romao's RAW Dragon Box release. Good god. Still deciding whether or not to get this or the sub-only version.
@iKaos Because of you, I will buy another HDD.. ![Imgur](https://i.imgur.com/77kYKQG.jpg)
Unfortunately I won't be able to download it ... But I still thank colleagues for their commitment to this project?
> Can anyone here re-upload Seed of Might’s Kai 1.0 JP BD torrent and or their Dragon Ball Movie 4 Funi Single DVD version please? I plan on uploading Dragon Ball Kai JPBD's release for a buddy since he asked me, but I might make it available for whomever wants it. I'm just tired of all the unnecessary arguments on the DB community which is what made me quit it all and be on my own. My uploads now have the comments hidden so I don't even read them if I feel like it. Most of them are cool, it's the few who tend to ruin a good time.
Ok, thank you very much for your answer.
why do hate latam ?
THANK YOU IKAOS AND THE TEAM. LEGENDS. ALL OF YOU!!!
I apologize if someone already asked this but as someone who downloaded Romao’s remux, is this release still worth downloading despite being much larger? Either way, I appreciate all the hard work that went into this release!
Holy fuck, this is incredible. Thanks to everyone who worked on this release. I'll have to wait for that smaller encode, or hopefully someone does a decent re-encode of this one.
@UIGoku Worth it. This fixes a majority of issues with the original dragon box releases. Check out the PDF - https://dombito.github.io/mergeproject/R1R2.pdf

Thank you all for the support so far. All of the questions asked above can be answered either in my description or by the PDF in the video section. @tacoballz LATAM releasers were waiting on this (or more specifically, the BA-only version) to do their syncs, so you'll get something from them eventually.
OMG this is here! Thank you @iKaos. This whole project from when you first started to what it has become now was awesome to see. Damn... this release is really far greater than anything I could have ever dreamed. PS: HUGE THANKS for not skimping out on the bitrate @JySzE/@Romao. It's over 9000!!!!!! Hell yeah!!! :P
Wow thanks so much If theres any donations you guys take pls link it od be glad to support!!
If I may ask, why put these in a .mkv container instead of a .m2ts container?
Im jealous on the people who already completed their DL lmao
Thanks for the great work
Holy Moly, Congrats to that release. Question, why you didn't use the video material from the "good" funimation blurays for Episode 1-39?
Cause they're black crushed and that defeats the point of a release all about superior dynamic range.
Thank you and everyone who worked on this release you all are mvps
please read my comment in https://nyaa.si/view/1145615
After reading the PDF, I was wondering if you could speak a little more regarding the drama cassette audio for episode 002 and the Big Box CD audio for episodes 229 and 237. Was the audio for these freshly ripped especially for this release, or taken from a (presumably high-quality) existing upload? I'm only vaguely familiar with the drama cassette and Big Box CD. Did any broadcast audio need to be used to "fill in" missing parts that aren't on the CD itself (OP/ED/Eyecatches/Previews)? A big thanks to the entire team for their hard work on this wonderful release!
Amazing. This is just amazing. This is what we've all been waiting for. Thanks to everyone who worked on this project!
Thank you iKaos & everyone involved in the project. You guys are our heroes!
Fuuuck I can't wait to watch this on my tv.
Surprised nobody complained about the file size. Guess people actually do read the FAQ.
Impressive. Thank you, everyone!
amigo, gracias, te felicito, una consulta.... las películas estarán en 4:3?
Christmas 2021 in january ;) Thank you all guys for the combination of efforts ! The DBZ passion is powerful in this one !
Can u plz upload it on mega.nz or Google Drive plz? Big Thanks :)
Ok, so it took me a few hours to download just 1 episode, am I doing something wrong? Is there any way that I can speed up this process?
this release convinced me i need to purchase another 4tb stat. and dragon ball stuff is gonna take up half of it lmao thanks
Hoo boy this is a big one, would love to have it however I'll have to wait as my storage is only 1TB, bout a good time as any to get an external hard drive. Awesome job!
could anybody here give me an explanation of the extra files in the torrent? i see there are the main files at 3gb and then the other ones make up what i assume is the audio/subtitles. do i need them all, and will they combine when the torrent downloads? i have VLC and i'm on a macbook. thank you!
@beepboopboop The only ones you really need are the .mkv files outside of the EXTRAs folder, they are just that, extra. Would still download and seed though, that way others can get it faster.
I had lost faith completely for a perfect Dragonball Z release. You guys are absolute crazy!! You've only gone and done it!! Thank you so much. I cant imagine the amount of time and effort you guys collectively have put into this release. I have been looking forward to this since forever. Thank you for all your hard work, it is much much appreciated. Legends! Special special thank you to iKaos!! You rock bro!!
May I know what is this? What is the importance of it? ![Imgur](https://i.imgur.com/97P4AGB.png)
@kakarot It's a checksum (CRC32). If you run the file through a CRC32 checksum generator, you should get back the same value that's in the file name. If the checksum you get is different, it means the file doesn't match what was originally distributed. This could be malicious or, more often, just a case of file corruption. Basically, it's a way of making sure you got the file intact.
@NeoGohan Before, I ignored it and rename the file.. Now I know, Thank You!
wow thanks for this! I'm keep finding a 4:3 release since most of the Dragon Ball Z uploaded on nyaa are cropped widescreen
Will be the Movies in 4:3 or 16:9 Remaster from toei? Some DB Movies are in 4:3 and Full HD but the Z ones are just 16:9 in Full HD.
THIS is what the 30th anniversary should have looked like !
*FOR MAC USERS* With the help of iKaos, JySzE and some other people, I was able to create a easy to install portable package & guide for a Mac MPV player. The MPV player contains a unique configuration which means other media players just won't do this batch justice, like my portable package will. If you are serious about watching these batches in their best possible state, you can download it here: aHR0cHM6Ly9kcml2ZS5nb29nbGUuY29tL2ZpbGUvZC8xR05hMzdPZEU3cjFyVVlSNG9nLU03RWRkNzNjendHeXQvdmlldz91c3A9c2hhcmluZw== Use a Base64 decoder (Google it) to decipher the above link.
@iKaos: Is there any way to donate to the group for their humongous efforts on this project? I would love to give something back for all the excellent work done on these releases
why not in broadcast order ? fuck you ikaos ! you are faggot !! torrent to big beaucse you cant do thing right ...
pay no mind to the peanut gallery, ikaos. you and the team have done incredible work here and your efforts are thoroughly appreciated!
^ For real. SoM deserves better than this lmao.
I'm gonna have to order a new HDD
When do we get a SoM / TC release of Dragon Ball Z Abridged? Who is gonna upscale the youtube rips with this video source? Hmm? Did you leave a snotty comment on someone's hard work today? Hmm? Then you are the hippopotamus and it is up to you to save castle grayskull from the bloat and release the dragon box DBZA release.
@DanteKasai you can donate to two members in charge of the video-editing part of the project here: https://dombito.github.io/mergeproject/donation.html
Ok got This batch. Now I'm gonna seed it & the OG DB Batch from iKaos.
Question about the "NCOP-NCEDs" folder. Is the content a remux or an encode?
Great job as always. Minor quibble: it looks like in the ending the subs don’t include the kanji, as was done for DB. Was it intended or do you plan to add them later?
Very impressive release overall, and I cannot imagine the hard work that went into this! Thank you to @iKaos and everyone who was involved! One minor thing I noticed was that the "2013-14 FUNi “Remastered” Dub (Replacement Score)" track is out of sync during the second half of episode 229. Not sure if it's an error on my end or not but, I've tested different players and noticed the same thing.

@Jumpstart > I was wondering if you could speak a little more regarding the drama cassette audio for episode 002 and the Big Box CD audio for episodes 229 and 237. I'm not actually 100% of the source since Mirolo did the sync, but pretty sure they came from Maakuo's dump of stuff. They are better quality than the BA because they were officially released, instead of recorded on home video. @Metaridley > Will be the Movies in 4:3 or 16:9 Remaster from toei? Some DB Movies are in 4:3 and Full HD but the Z ones are just 16:9 in Full HD. We are only doing 16:9 movies. Most of the 4:3 ones are too low quality to realistically do anything with. @DanteKasai > Is there any way to donate to the group for their humongous efforts on this project? As mentioned there is a donation link within the PDF, my info we'll be there eventually too. The bigger thing that will help us though is seeding. @Damned > Question about the “NCOP-NCEDs” folder. Is the content a remux or an encode? I think it varies by item. I tried to use remuxes when possible. @strockbel I didn't include Kanji for the EDs because they interfered frequently with the credits. @SSJ85 Others have confirmed this, it appears to be a corruption in the file I was given. We'll patch it and upload a fix.

Fixed the error mentioned above in episode 229, use Base64 to decode the link: `aHR0cHM6Ly9tZWdhLm56L2ZvbGRlci9TTjlnQUt4SSM1SFNEV0RTb0ZjN2RQemNUazlCSGp3`
@iKaos Thank you very much for the 229 fix!
@iKaos do you have sub (English Dubtitles) for DB https://nyaa.si/view/1283101 ?
@iKaos Special 2 is missing the font attachments. BTW, are you releasing the new HD version of the specials soon?
Did the specials receive the same kind of treatment or are they just raw remuxes?

iKaos (uploader)

User
@rmx777 They're in process. @Johnster Oops. Added them to the above fixes folder. Also, this is as good of place as any to say we've decided to not touch the HD specials until a BD comes out, due to the presence of artifacts and other unfixable problems in the TV cap. @Gnosis > Note that the TV Specials are sourced entirely from the R2J Dragon Boxes but contain various video fixes.
Hey, this seems like an impressive project. What's the difference between this and "Som"? Also, did the subtitles get re-timed (scene timed)? Oh, could you also co-operate with a french team to add french audio and subs?
@sangofe If u are referring to this: https://nyaa.si/view/1331090. That one only contains the Broadcast JPN audio and ENG Styled subs. Whilst this contains the JP audios with multiple Dubs from different dub casts. Joining the Q&A discord server (Link above) should have your question's answered quicker too.
Comparing the first episode to this release -> https://nyaa.si/view/1241495 and the colors are MUCH better, no more green-magenta aberrations and better details/accuracy overall. Unfortunately, the image seems to be stretched horizontally just a little: https://i.imgur.com/imjwgfQ.png https://i.imgur.com/t9W7L70.png https://i.imgur.com/DsV9QcK.png https://i.imgur.com/d7HyDX6.png Cuts off a little detail, gives hard screen edges in the process and makes everything more fat. (Edited)
@Diego0920 This is correct, The default size that dbox comes in 720x480 > 720x540 on playback is incorrect and is covered in the PDF. DB, Z and GT are all 177:160 PAR meaning you crop the overscan to get the proper PAR (177:160) 708x480 > 708x531 Again this is covered in the PDF.
@Diego0920 Whatever "downsides" there are with these batches is pretty much negligible when it's the most accurate & best version way to watch the show to date (i.m.o). And worrying about literal pixels being cropped out to ensure a proper aspect ratio is totally nit-picking an otherwise awesome release.
@Diego0920 What do you mean by we? You didn't do shit on this release lol.
SaiyanSidd: yeah, I was. Being an old timer myself I always appreciate consistent scene timing. Do you know if anyone did that to DBZ?
@iKaos Do you think Toei might release them on Blu-ray? It's definitely possible, but I wouldn't keep my hopes up, especially because even if it does indeed happen they'll most likely botch it like they did with the movies. However, it appears the specials are getting a German BD release in March, so perhaps they're using the new HD masters. Also, just for curiosity, I noticed some of those fonts were not included in the Japanese-broadcast-only batch either. Not sure whether they should actually be there as well or if they're simply not being used in this batch here.
@iKaos First things first, high praise to iKaos and everyone else involved in this project, taking the initiative and doing the work Funi/Toei can't be bothered to do. I have a question about the checksums: is there any easy way for a layman like me to batch verify all the checksums of everything in the torrent? I had a power outage in the middle of torrenting this. Doing a "force recheck" in qbittorrent doesn't throw up any errors, but I can't find any documentation on how it works and whether it's actually comparing checksums, and I'd rather avoid having the check each and every file individually.
@Johnster > Also, just for curiosity, I noticed some of those fonts were not included in the Japanese-broadcast-only batch either. Not sure whether they should actually be there as well or if they’re simply not being used in this batch here. The other torrent has all the required fonts for the subs, they are just renamed and dupes / unused ones were removed. 1 - 199 from the other torrent has a visual bug for its mediainfo for some unknown reason so fonts do not show up in the mediainfo, but if you drag one of the bugged eps into mkvtoolnix it shows they do indeed contain the fonts. @AndyTheSeveredHead Download RapidCRC drag all the checksum tagged files from iKaos torrent into the window and it will do its magic.
Anyway somebody could release a batch that contains just the audios from this torrent for those who want to remux it to the existing Dragon Box video? Love the release but I simply cannot download nearly a full TB when all I'm looking for is just the loseless dub Kikuchi and the original Funi dub audios. Please and thank you
@JySzE Thanks for the info. Indeed makes sense that way.
@JySzE Perfect, thanks!
@iKaos First of all, I would like to sincerely thank you from the bottom of my heart for this phenomenal -to say the least- release!! In my books, this is without a shadow of a doubt the most thorough, completed, well-executed and perfect in every aspect release us fans had the honor and privilege of getting from you and your amazing group! Again, thank you soooooo much for the hardcore devotion you put through this spectacular project!! It means the world!! :) If you don't mind and have some spare time to share I have a couple of questions: 1) Do you or any group that you are affiliated with, have any future plans for: • Dragon Ball Kai 1-159 (NOT The Final Chapters version as I would love a pure JP sourced release) (JP BDs - subbed) • Dragon Ball Super 1-131 (JP BDs - subbed) • Dragon Ball Super: Broly (JP BD - subbed) 2) Regarding your DB and DBZ releases: From my understanding there is a possible new version possibly coming in the future with color correction, no? My question is that if those releases do come out will they replace the current non-CC ones? Also, will the video encoding settings be the EXACT same as here with different colors or will the video get tempered with a bit? Also, will there be any difference in terms of audios, subs, chapters etc.? Or is everything here finalized and nothing gets tempered besides the colors? Thank you very much for your time and hard work again!! :)
compared to https://nyaa.si/view/1114198 this is cropped ~1mm on both left and right edges..so lots of detail lost :(

iKaos (uploader)

User
@Yusei573 If anyone does Kai it would be way too far in the future for me to actually comment on. Super is a big fat no, there are tons of releases of it already. As for as color correction goes, I have said it before but we do not anticipate that being done any time soon. Any future release would use what we've done here as the source. In theory the audios would be the same but if there are updates then they will be done at that time. @huhayahoo if you read the PDF you will see why the crop was done, as far as ""lots of detail""" if you really care about the edge of the screen that's usually a black bar enough to throw out the rest of what we've done here then I don't know what to tell you.
>lots of detail lost Imagine crying about a few pixels when the insane gains you get everywhere else in this release more than make up for it. Superior dark details and less blocking >>>> a bit of frame edge.
huhayahoo: cropping out the overscan area which a crt television usually did anyway is hardly as sinful as cropping 20% of picture information to foolishly retrofit a 1989 anime to 2007 TV standards
@Comment101 I am a mac user and I have been using VLC for these releases. Why is an MPV player better? Can it play MKV files? I know nothing about this :/ @iKaos For the 229 fix, I see the video file, audio file, and other component files all separate from each other. Do I merge them with MKVToolnix or is there another way I am supposed to be doing this? Also, why is there an MPV file, and are there MPV files for the rest of the release? Also, thanks for the release iKaos and everyone else involved. I've been waiting forever for this and mine just finished downloading. You guys seriously friggin rock. Now, all that's left to complete my collection are the v4 level sets!

iKaos (uploader)

@mattsterZ MPV can take use of the spline36 scaler, which gives the best result when viewing this (or any SD content) on a larger monitor. So the folder has become a general fix folder, for 229 I muxed everything together into a new file, so you can download just that and be ok, or if you don't want to do that you can download just the audio file fix and mux it into the video you've already downloaded. The MPV file in there is bundled for Windows users, you'll have to go to the other link it the comment above for the mac version.
is there any benefit to including dbox audio other than adding 24GB to the size ?
@Chilled bro it's obviously included so you can get the compete retro sounding dbox experience! 24GB is nothing these days too.
@Chilled Because people complain if he doesn't include it. I know why would literally anyone want garbage optical audio? I don't know, but if it keeps the 1% of people who like that crap happy then whatever. We can just remux it out and forget it ever existed
thank you for your replies brilliant and Venny, @Venny yeah we have to respect other people's tastes, i did not think of it like that.
"yeah we have to respect other people’s tastes, i did not think of it like that." understatement of the century from a dragon ball fan
in all seriousness, how can someone prefer an audio track that is objectively inferior than the other, given than the only difference between the two being the lost quality itself, it is not an understatement in my opinion, even if i watched dbz when i was 6 with muffled audio i would be more than happy to rewatch it with superior audio, i seriously don't get it
i dont understand how anyone clicks on this page and says anything other than positive at such a massive undertaking. seeing this release is like a dream come true for so many fans, myself included.
@chilled , I guess it's kinda like driving an old stick shift car for 50 years, then all of a sudden, you have a Tesla to drive, it just doesn't feel the same, doesn't give you the same vibes, although it gets you from point A to B the same.
@iKaos Thanks! Is it still worth having VLC after downloading MPV? Say, for content that's already HD? Would there be drawbacks to watching content that is already HD with MPV and spline36? The level sets would be a good example since it's 1080p. I'm curious about HD live-action shows and movies for that matter as well. Also, when downloading the batch, bitlord shows me how much of it is downloaded in GiB. Then in parentheses next to it, there is a different number of GiB (usually a lower number). What does the number in parentheses stand for? I hope bitlord isn't cutting corners and downloading it in lower quality and reducing the size of the files or anything like that (if that's even a thing). @Comment 101 @iKaos My MPV has spline36 enabled and debanding is off. I noticed that there is a step in the MPV setup that requires you to add the .conf file to MPV if spline36 isn't working. As I mentioned earlier, mine is working. So out of curiosity, I checked the MPV preferences to see if there would be a .conf file in it and there isn't one. Right after I checked, MPV prompted me to add one into the preferences. Here's a link to the screenshot of that prompt: https://www.dropbox.com/s/12xcvvo1yrh7vh3/Screen%20Shot%202021-02-02%20at%2012.28.56%20AM.png?dl=0 So my question is, even if I have everything working properly, does it help, or is it required to add the .conf file? My last question is about the mpv-0.33.0 folder. I added the entire folder to applications as instructed. Contained in the folder (as you know) are the actual mpv app itself and a documentation folder. Does the mpv-0.33.0 folder have to be in applications with the documentation folder for mpv to function properly, or can I have the mpv app by itself in applications without the mpv-0.33.0 folder and documentation folder?
@Chilled it's all about the nostalgia. Even though I've grown to like the Japanese score, I still get super excited when I hear Rock the Dragon. @iKaos and team - Man this will go on multiple hard drives so that I have multiple copies of it this is so amazing.
@iKaos I see! Thank you very much for letting me know! Kai deserves love too so I can only hope it will be done nonetheless. As for Super, you'd be surprised by indeed there is no concrete archive-level tier release for the series yet as far as I know. There isn't a decent JP BDs 1080p h.264 release out there. So trust me, Super definitely needs love and care from an amazing group like yours! And one more thing. If hypothetically your group did decide to do Super, I would assume that it would take like 1/10th of the time and work you spent on DB and DBZ (like only basic encoding, subs styling and editing and Funi/Bang Zoom dubs synching). Something similar could be said for Kai 1.0 also. For Kai 2.0 my advice would be to do two versions - one dual audio TFC international BDs release and one Kai 2.0 (2014) subbed only JP BDs release! The main issue would be to balance the green tint though. Other than that it should be far easier and simpler than DB and DBZ.
@iKaos, one small request, would it be possible to copy the funi dub for all the ocean episodes and just slap rock the dragon intro on it? Just to keep it consistent like the post-ocean "original funi" dubs.
@Yusei573 Funimation's subtitles for Super synched to the Japanese Blu-rays were uploaded here just recently. The torrent is without seeds already, but I made a DLL mirror. You can use them with SOFCJ's raws (no dubs included, though). Also for the movie there are many options available.
I asked this question before and I don't mean to be annoying but is there any way for me to color correct this footage? What would I need to do so if it's possible?

@Chilled some people don't like the buzzing in the Broadcast Audio. I could see it being an issue if you have sensitive ears. It is 0 effort for me to leave the track muxed in, and I assume if you're fine downloading a 900GB torrent than 20GB isn't really any bloat. @mattsterZ some of your questions are pretty technical so I'll do my best. Spline36 is just a scaler, so it only goes into effect if you have content at a different resolution than your screen. If your content is 1080 and the screen is 1080 then it doesn't do anything. I don't know anything about bitlord but torrent programs shouldn't be compressing anything. You can check if the file is what it should be by putting it into RapidCRC and checking if the numbers match the ones at the end of the file name. For MPV I was under the impression that you need the .conf file for it to actually be configured, so it's weird if it worked without it, but if it works then it works. I assume the app is fine on its own without the docs folder. @Yusei573 One of our encoders would have to be interested in handling Super for us to do it, and most of us dislike Super with a passion. If it happens I won't be involved at all. Like I said we're poking around at Kai but it's not a priority. @linkthepirate you can change out OPs but it's kind of complicated. It would involve demuxing the audio tracks using MKV Extract and using a program like SoX to delete the OP from the track and add in the other one. The goal was to use whatever OP is relevant for the track, so that's why RTD goes away after 107 on the OG track. @Vhagar if the footage could be easily color corrected it would have been done by now since it's 18 years old. The only way to properly do it is to go shot-by-shot, which is beyond the scope of what 99% of people can do, and the 1% are either busy or expect to be paid.
@iKaos I'm not unwilling to take on such a process, for this, OG Dragonball, GT, and the movies as well. What will I need?
people who prefer LQ optical audio might as well watch some degenerate video encode to go with it instead of wasting their time downloading this, you know for maximum nostalgia lol i'm joking, i'm with preserving the dbox audio too, just for the sake of having it all in one release. thank you
Does anyone know where to find disc scans for this? https://nyaa.si/view/1247057
@Vhagar If you don't know even the most basic steps already, you're not going to do it.
Gotta start somewhere
@iKaos no worries man, was only a small item on my own little wish list if Funi went back and did a proper ocean redo. If it is a big undertaking don't worry about it this release is great as is!
@iKaos Minor issue with the subtitles: in the NEP title card at the end of episode 286, and then again in the title card of episode 287, there's an 's' missing ("Peace Return!!" where it should be "Peace Returns!!").
> [Quoting Johnster](https://nyaa.si/view/1331089#com-106): > *Do you think Toei might release them on Blu-ray?* I'd say they would at some point. But you saw what they did with the movies. The series would be annihilated by the same DNR filter and probably even WS cropped too because it's all strange and grainy and has weird black bars on the sides. Then they'll pulverize it more by stuffing 10 episodes per disc. We did luck out with the web-dl's though... and it would have benefited from a higher bitrate but without the DNR it still blows those BD's away. The web-dl's show that the BD's had potential. When it comes to DBZ, good releases are not something you see every day. It's been like 20 years since the DBOX and nothing but letdowns since then? They'll never put out a good BD set. They simply don't know how to just leave it alone instead of tinkering around in all the wrong ways. All the more reason to cherish this release from iKaos/SoM. I was fine with the DBOX to begin with, but now actually seeing a complete release that looks even better than the DBOX after all this time... I still cant believe it's real. And as amazing as the video is, the audio tracks are equally as amazing. I don't see anything better than this coming around is all I'm saying. For the millionth time, thanks to all you guys who stepped up and contributed towards making the best DBZ release ever seen. You guys rock!
@iKaos I did it with audacity, but it was super basic probably not what all you'd do. Adding in base64 if anyone wants. aHR0cHM6Ly9tZWdhLm56L2ZvbGRlci9NY1FRM1I0WSM4eG9fY1FYSFlwSk16U2JQcGFpN0hR Feel free to take my comment down if I'm in violation or something. To clarify, this is literally just the Rock The Dragon intro from the Saban track slapped on to the track with the Johnson score, I take no credit for any of the above awesome work aside from the simple splicing. Also added bash scripts to mux and set mine and "original funi" default if wanted. Lastly, I literally just created that mega account so if they take stuff down for inactivity I'd get a copy and put it somewhere lol.
@linkthepirate after the garlic jr saga, all funimation single dvds got rid of and association with rock the dragon and started using the faulconer opening and ending
@clutchins I'm aware, mine just splices so that 1-67 is consistent with those episodes between Ginyu and Garlic Jr. The scripts to default original funi I just uploaded because I already was using them myself, I just made them available if someone else wants to live in this fantasy world with me where Funi went back and properly re-released all the singles to match Frieza saga lol.
@iKaos FYI I was checking my splices and noticed Cha La was mixed in the background of the saban track for E40 and verified is present in the source. I corrected my m4a with another track but you may want to add to your fixes.
@iKaos So will there be a final release for the level set version of the first episodes?
@iKaos I'm seeing a lot of new fixes for other episodes in that mega folder you linked earlier, are those outlined or mentioned anywhere? Forgive me for being stupid but I'm not sure what to do with the stuff besides the full episodes or if I should even bother. I'm also not sure what the other .zip files are for exactly.
Also, can someone point me to a tutorial on how to mux the individual fixes into the episodes? Stuff like adding the fonts I don't understand at all.
@HughJass, the episodes with fixes already muxed in are already available in the mega link. You don't need to mux them yourself.

@linkthepirate Noted and fixed, added to the folder, thanks. @SpanishGarbo the v4 of the Levels are a to-do but not a priority at this moment as I'm focusing on getting the movies and GT done. @HughJass I added a text document that outlines the fixes in the folder - because I'm at the word limit on the torrent description I can't add more info there. I should also point out for everyone that it's a lot easier to reach me on the Discord that I linked, especially if you find mistakes, since I don't check this torrent every day. With regards to the fixes, most of them are for very minor things, which is why I haven't made v4s for everything. If it's big issue, like something audio related, then I make the v4s and put them in that folder so you don't have to do anything. For muxing in the individual fixes, it's as simple as loading the v3 and the fix into MKVToolNix, then deselecting the track with the problem and renaming the fix to match the old track. For the fonts you would add them as attachments instead, or just install them on your computer. I do have a visual tutorial for this on the Discord.
Mr iKaos thank you. You're a legend. I'm downloading it on my phone (4x 256gb sd card) Since 1TB sd cards are too expensive yet (400$) Cheers. Lets go!
Damn boy, thanks for all the hard work
(1/2) This is almost a perfect Dragon Box Torrent. Almost. If only there wasn't any undercropping and all the obscure ass specials were included in High (as possible) quality with proper subtitles for the first time. A collection of other obscure bonus fetures is appriciated too interviews documentaries and such. You see undercropping is when there is a corner of the screen which is curved on the 16mm tap is left as curved. Somehow in the Dragon Boxes and less so on the Level Sets the top left is curved in some of the shots either by accident or on purpouse in the official release. The only hope of us getting complete right angles with these shots is for a fan release like this one to go in and correct this mistake. Just make sure you don’t go in and overcrop like in a funimation release where you genuinely start to loose background detail just cut enough for there to be a proper right angle. The main thing Missing are the Trunks Special and the 1st Bardock Special which originally aired as episodes of the TV show in Japan even though Funimation markets them as movies for some stupid ass reason (an excuse to sell us another DVD). You see there are 3 Kinds of Dragon Ball Specials and you should list them differently in your release under 3 different folders. First we have the TV Specials which usually aired between TV episodes or as some part of promotional event or special crossover event and one special was a recap that was only made for western audiences (The World of Dragon Ball Z), some specials got DVD releases. Second we have festival films which were specifically made to be shown at anime cons in Japan, some festival films got DVD releases. The Festival Films never were released on TV and should therefore be listed differently from specials. The second Bardock Special is an example of a festival film with a Blu-Ray. Third we have OVAs which only released as DVD's and were not shown at festivals or on TV.
(2/2) The only 2 teal OVA's Dragon Ball Z had were the 2 plan to eradicate the Saiyan episodes. All others were either specials or festival films that got DVD releases. https://dragonball.fandom.com/wiki/List_of_Dragon_Ball_films (a decent source but nothhing super obsecure mentioned other than History of Japan in all its glory and before you get intimidated by its length its got bulma as Himiko) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Dragon_Ball_anime (another decent source as for what should be listed as a festival film ova and special however everything after released after "Yo! Son Goku and His Friends Return!!" needs to be classified under Dragon Dall Super not Z and this includes the Toriko special which was released after battle of gods, However I do not agree with the classification of educational programs here and think they should be just listed under specials) Speaking of educational specials there is also this one https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AbVaXUW7BYU Literally never heard of this before hell I don't even have a copy of it. If you can use your resources to find and put together a collection of every single Dragon Ball Z special (including the ones like this nobody had heard of and actually put together a set of subtitles for the ones missing it the repack would be legendary hell you are probably the only one who could do it). Downloaded verasions of DBZA (including shorts and movies) would be nice as bonus features. You;d be surpriced at the number of fans who havent seen it. Regarding subtitles for Z please Please PLEASE include the original AnimeLab subtitles from thelate 90’s you know the type you used to find on limewire back in the day where goku swares every 5 seconds and they go off on some guy called Hank at the endo f one of the episodes. These are an important part of dragonball history and very nostalgic for some older fans.
3/3 There is also the Portuguese SiC dub which is essentially a comedic take on dragon ball with inside jokes to portugese culture most of this is pure gold but in the west we have never gotten accurate dubtitles except for this video here (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cyNBnBNc56Q) Return of Son Goku and His Friends were also a Festival Film, however be included along with Battle of Gods and Resurrection F in A dragon Ball Super Repack as they are clearly from that era of dragon ball dragon ball. The Toriko/One Piece crossover should also be included with super even though it technically has the Z label since it was released a few weeks after Battle of Gods. Also I heard somewhere that Toriyama may have gotten the idea for super saiyan Blue from Toriko's hair god I hope this isn't true. Speaking of a perspective future Super repack include the Bang Zoom! Dub in all its terribleness (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T6T7hj4gVzg) btw the FLACs of the audio for the Bang Zoom! Dub do exist in an unlisted torrent. From what I hear and if at all possible try and dig up the alternative version of the Funimation Dub that aired in some parts of Africa with minor censorship. This alternate dub exists but I haven't been able to find a version of it for my collection. Dragon ball Super also has a few decent fan dubs from what I hear along with some clowns who made a version of the soundtrack with Bruce falconer because of course someone did it. Super also has two more specials other than Yo! Son Goku and His Friends Return!! and the Toriko crossover one promoting the Broly fight and another promoting the Jiren fight.
4/4 The Main difference of Super from other Dragon Ball Series is that there are essentially 2 versions of the show one whaich was aired on TV with occasionally wonky animation like in Episode 5 and another with touched up animation and Bulma's ass redrawn to be tighter on the Blu-rays during the Resurrection of Frieza arc (look it up). If you really are going to make a collection with both versions you could Make the TV version to have several of the most popular Fan Subs (Like the ones with special stylish text for attacks) and Fan Dubs and that awful falconer remix. Then put both the official dubs on the Blu Ray version alone with an accurate sub experience. Only downside of this is that you'll have to see if they released a version of the original TV episodes in Japan because the TV rips have channel watermarks and Japanese Epilepsy warnings. There is also the leaked screener for the Broly film and a color corrected version of the leaked screener. Look up the earliest version off the Broly film on nyaa and you should be able to find these two.
5/5 Reguarding the upcoming movie repack make sure you include both the 4:3 French releases (best quality for 4:3) and the Toel Remaster Blu Rays. Make sure you don’t just use the streaming copy of the toei remasrter just because it is uncensored as the quality for streamed video just isnt as good. The perfect solution would be to take the Blu rays and replace just the censored sections of the frame with the uncensored sections like the despecialized edition did. The Big Green and Speedy dub should be also included where ever possible of course. Also put in the two bootleg dragonball movies (Dragon Ball: The Magic Begins and Dragon Ball: Ssawora Son Goku, Igyeora Son Goku) and dragon ball evolution which is unironically worse than the previous two. Good luck finding high quality copies of them though.
@oldmemes you should make your own dbox torrent, with blackjack and hookers
@oldmemes the Bardock and Trunks Specials are included. They just aren't in the Specials folder (they are just in the normal episode listing). Plan to Eradicate the Saiyans will be included in the Movie batch. It will only use 16:9 apparently and they aren't touching anything modern apparently. And the movies will include Big Green and Speedy.

@oldmemes ok I'll try to be serious. > If only there wasn’t any undercropping There was literally someone complaining about how they lost 4 pixels on the sides of our release because we had to use the R1 crop, so idk if that will fly amongst this fanbase. The only way to *truly* properly re-crop the shots would be to go back to the original film and do it right, but we don't have that so it's not gonna happen. > The main thing Missing are the Trunks Special and the 1st Bardock Special They are in this very torrent with the regular series, since they are canon to it. Imagine typing all that out and not realizing I included them, I can already tell this is gonna be a long comment chain. > there are 3 Kinds of Dragon Ball Specials and you should list them differently in your release under 3 different folders I know what "Specials" are, chief. Honestly I just included a few I had lying around as bonuses. This is not meant to be THE last DBZ torrent ever. I even said that in the torrent description > The only 2 teal OVA’s Dragon Ball Z had were the 2 plan to eradicate the Saiyan episodes These will be with the movies release. We are doing no special magic to them since they look like shit and are from a tape master.

> however everything after released after “Yo! Son Goku and His Friends Return!!” gonna stop you right there sir since we're not doing anything "modern". IDK if you'll even got Yo Son Goku from us or not. Pretty sure Pendekar did it already, and GTeam did the other modern OVAs. I care less than Vegeta cares about Trunks about the crossovers or anything like that. > Downloaded verasions of DBZA (including shorts and movies) No meme I've already done this but never released it on Nyaa. Considering there's a large chunk of DBZA fans who have never seen DBZ and how divisive the series is in general for Dragon Ball fans AND considering it's FREE on the Internet I don't want to intermingle it with official stuff. > include the original AnimeLab subtitles from thelate 90’s We have a guy working on this, I'm sure he will up them here when he's done. If/when we do a v4 (lel) I'll include them.

> There is also the Portuguese SiC dub Sir I don't speak Portuguese nor any other language besides English, If I went down this rabbit hole you would never see a release > A dragon Ball Super Repack Modern Dragon Ball was a mistake > Bang Zoom! Dub If I was doing Super, yeah, but I'm not, so no > The Main difference of Super from other Dragon Ball Series is that there are essentially 2 versions of the show See my statement two points up > make sure you include both the 4:3 French releases (best quality for 4:3) and the Toel Remaster Blu Rays Not doing the 4:3 movies because all of the sources for them are shit. There's a torrent here that has remuxes of all the fullscreen movies but it's dead now because Nyaa gonna Nyaa > don’t just use the streaming copy of the toei remasrter It has more grain and detail than the BDs, so we are using those, sorry/not sorry > Big Green and Speedy dub should be also included I am doing this unless this comment makes me commit sudoku and decide to walk away and never touch DB again, which I'm pretty close to at this point honestly bro > the two bootleg dragonball movies No You are more than welcome to do all the stuff you asked for while having a job and a life outside of DB though.

@oldmemes, do you know what is an uploader? i can say you what he is not: it is not a guy working to fit YOUR taste, he is not paid for that , he don't even have anything to explain, litterraly that's just someone that have done something for HIMSELF and have uploaded for others: if you want something not inside? just do it yourself, why someone would sync a dub he fucking don't care about? if you want portuguese dub, feel free to sync it, when you'll have spent months to work on project, you'll understand what is "working" and why your kind of comments are irrelevant if it was me i'll just have straight you goes to fuck yourself"
What the hell am I reading from this oldmemes guy? This rant doesn’t even make sense. Anyway, hey iKaos, JySzE, and everyone else involved in this project - thank you for seeing what I believe are the ultimate archival releases of Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z to completion (and forcing me to keep buying bigger and bigger external HDDs to store it all, damn you all!), this is amazing. I can retire my Dragon Box DVDs to the shelf for now to look nice and go to this instead. I’m looking forward to your release of the movies and whatever else comes next. Hopefully external 4+ TB SSDs decrease to a more reasonable price by the time it’s all done so I can have more confidence in storing it all long term!
@oldmemes you talk like you pay these people monthly
WHERE'S MY OBSCURE PORTUGUESE DUB!? THIS WHOLE COLLECTION IS CRAP!
Holy shit I just watched gohan ssj2 vs cell and the quality is insane. After years of watching the dbz clips on youtube, this release looks like a 2021 remake.
@iKaos @oldmemes The Portuguese dub was English and I'm pretty sure the episodes don't even exist, or I couldn't find them at least. The movies are out there and the video quality fits the audio quality quite well, i.e. shit and poop. Also, I was wondering if you could tell me what the audio difference is with 139 and 184. I may be missing the description somewhere, so sorry if I am. Also also, thanks for this. Before you dropped this epic project on the net I was bitching and whining about how Funi butchers every release and couldn't understand why they couldn't simply match the original aspect ratio with multiple audio tracks. And why not include the original dub?? It really changes the mood in some scenes to have the narrator blabbing away during a seen where silence set a tone. Then along came you guys already working on it. Well done with every release. I'm very much looking forward to whatever you do next!
@DisplayNamee Episode 139 and 184 have their insert songs added in the English Dub replacement score. It was silence instead having a insert song like in the japanese. 139 -> https://youtu.be/0fFd97jEcXs 184 -> https://youtu.be/vgi3OzaAnW8 > Movies are next.
@IKaos: I've always followed your releases with great pleasure, but, just to "put it in writing", for those who see these comments: Is there a torrent on nyaa of Dragon ball s01, DBZ S02, and DBGT S03, WITH THE NEPs INCLUDED? Because, apart from this one, I couldn't find it.
@luigirovatti what? This torrent is iKaos Complete Dragon Ball Dragon Box Batch. All Episodes have Next Episode Previews. https://nyaa.si/view/1283101 If you can't wait for GT. This is the best GT Torrent. https://nyaa.si/view/1136923 You can also search in Impakts GT Remux for something you maybe want https://nyaa.si/view/1271826 For Z. This here is the best torrent...
@KameSenninLegacy aaahhh thank you. I didn't realize the japanese songs were added in over the faulconer score.
what? no. Its not added over the faulconer score. Its added to the kikuchi score
Oh. It was in English in the link you sent, so I was confused. Also, I noticed that there is a full version 4 of episode 147 but no individual fix. What was up with that one?
read the note.txt file
@KameSenninLegacy Very helpful, thank you. If the note is in the download, I will be sure to read it in a few weeks when it finishes. If it is in one of the links above, I will scour them all looking for this specific answer. Douche.

@DisplayNamee 147's issue is in the video, so no point in just releasing the video as an individual fix. And yeah the fix notes are in the fix folder.
Hello sayajins. First of all I am very thank full for the OG DBZ stuff, stay strong. Now I really want to know if I should download this now and if you are done with the fixes and there won’t be any other versions. Where is the fix folder and what's in it?
@tomux123x I know where the Fix folder is but I ain’t telling you, surely it’s not that difficult to find it and what’s in it on your own ? ?
Should have stayed quiet then kid, instead of showing your nasty attitude.
@tomux123x You still have not found what you’re looking for, sad ?
Yikes. At least have someone answer rudely before putting your feet in your mouth. Fix folder is at the very top of the description...........lol
@DisplayNamee Why would you tell them ? if they are too lazy and too stupid to read the description and the comments then they deserve zero assistance, like dogs they must be trained.
@UltimateFighter Because a dog can't be trained without....training. lol
We browse comments to find some useful info and to see when fans are happy and great full for the uploaders (I wouldn't share anything with the toxic part of community which would only deserve a ban nothing else good, but each uploader has got a hearth of gold) ,but what we get instead is a comment section full of negativity and stupid unnecessary offensive jokes towards uploaders and some other people. It gets polluted and the important stuff gets mixed in with a lot of waste of space. So kids spare the comment section,it's not youtube and you don't have to show off for likes. IF YOU DON'T LIKE CONTENT THE UPLOADERS ARE SHARING FOR FREE,DON'T DOWNLOAD IT AND LEAVE,GO DOWNLOAD SOMETHING YOU LIKE. IF YOU DON'T WANT TO HELP OR POLITELY ADVISE SOMEONE WHO IS SEEKING HELP,DON'T DO IT.YOU DON'T NEED TO INTERACT AT ALL.I'M SURE THAT THERE WAS A LOT OF PEOPLE THAT SEEN MY FIX FOLDER QUESTION AND JUST CHOSE TO IGNORE IT AND DIDN'T INTERACT.AND THAT'S STILL BETTER THAN TO START SOMETHING,JUST TO TRY TO SHOW THAT YOU'RE BETTER THAN SOMEONE AND TRYING PUTTING HIM DOWN FOR NO BIG REASON.MAN THESE CHILDREN NEED TO BE THOUGHT SOME MANNERS ONCE IN A WHILE...
Hello everyone, I will be seeding this every weekend to keep the torrent alive. Anyways, can anyone tell me how to properly install the MPV player with scripts? I tried installing it twice and after the second reinstall, the video seems blurry to me when comparing it to the VLC player! It's bizarre. Thanks
Uh this might be a noob question, but, if you're taking CRT overscan into account, wouldn't that mean you would consider both horizontal and vertical overscan? Or are there reasons to only care about applying horizontal cropping to get the correct PAR and DAR?
> Uh this might be a noob question, but, if you’re taking CRT overscan into account, wouldn’t that mean you would consider both horizontal and vertical overscan? There are just not enough words in the English language to express how thankful I am for this amount of work that's put into a project of this caliber. I literally cannot thank you guys enough for this. I ordered some Criterion Blu-Ray cases from Casetopia and I'm looking to burn this, the original Dragon Ball, and GT onto 50GB BD discs for my own media collection (my goal is to make 7 SD on BD sets (inspired by Discotek Media and how they put standard definition content onto Blu-Ray) containing all 508 TV episodes and specials; 2 volumes for DB, 4 volumes for Z, and one volume for GT). How many episodes do you think will realistically fit onto each disc, if you don't mind me asking?
Okay so after messing around with the video settings on VLC, I think I've corrected the colors on the DBOX footage at least a little bit. I want to upload some pictures here to show you all and get some feedback to see weather or not I've done a decent job or not. I don't know how to upload any pictures here tho....

@iKaos I have long since prepared for everyone else's bile
Thanks guys even the biggest companies won't make this happen Please make a hevc release X256!!

@Ninaadark18 HEVC is not the best option for a grainy anime. I agree that there can be a size/quality compromise but it should still be done in x264. I would argue there's not much point in doing something smaller than remux size as that kills the benefits of the additional grain from the merge.
Hi , ikaos . First of all , I would like to thank you for this greatness ( including most of the other guys) . My job obligations are still keeping me from watching this great release episode by episode . But from what I've seen so far , everything was very perfect, Except for the 5.1 English audio tracks . They weren't perfectly synced and not consistent with the other 2 English tracks . Well , good thing I don't care very much about that track anyway . I only love this track for the first 67 episodes and for some of the movies. Specifically ,Movie 1 , 2 ,3 , 9 and 13 . Speaking of which , Funimation themselves didn't sync that audio track very well for their DBOX release anyway . Maybe that's why the guy who synced it for this fan release messed up a little . ( Maybe he took their DBOX release as a base for his syncing and tried to make it similar to their syncing) As for your upcoming WEB-DLs TOEI Remasters of the movies , I suggest you to not use the previous audio tracks your group used in their so -called defentive release , because they were not perfectly synced , especially the third Z Movie . On ACM ( A private tracker) , there is a user called : SoftMachine and he shared his synced DB and DBZ Movies there . Unfortunately he used the censored DNREd Blu-Ray version , but you an extract the audios and slap them on the grainy uncensored WEB-DLs without having to sync them from the scratch . His syncing is perfect . Like I said , you can mux them with the untouched WEB-DLs easily . ( With some slight offset changes/adjustments if it needs be . ) I guess you can use his audio tracks with giving him the credits and without taking his permission to do so . Or you can ask for his permission before you do anything . Honestly, I wouldn't prefer the later .
@The-good_Man1994 "With some slight offset changes/adjustments if it needs be" You fully underestimate how hard it can be to sync audio from different sources. With that said I would love for you to do a comparison of the this 5.1 track to other 5.1 releases. I might notice it now but I have never noticed a issue with sound effects and lip flaps is obviously a poor comparison. As long as it hits the general time you'll never notice its off unless you compare it to some arbitrary "correct" lip flap audio timing source. Id have to imagine that would be whatever source you saw first...
You're the GOAT can't wait for the movies, are they going to be in 4:3 or letterbox? And is there a good audio source for them? Was just curious if that's a dumb question.
@Harvey_Plissken for the iKaos mix for just Dragon Ball, you can squeeze about 26 episodes onto a BD-50, that's without any compression or anything, so you'd need at least 6 discs. For Z, it's about 12 episodes onto a BD-50, same deal, no compression or anything, you'd need 25 discs. I'd assume GT would be similar to the OG since there isn't an American Dragon Box to splice footage into the Japanese from, so I'd count on needing at least 3 discs for GT. Of course your mileage may vary if you are programming in menus and breaking up the show into reasonable story arcs, but at a minimum, you'd need 34 discs for just the TV shows
I started watching this release and felt I had to come back and say thank you to all were involved in making literally hands down the best version of DBZ to ever exist words can't describe how much it's appreciated. I wanted to bring up an episode that has some minor audio desync about half way through just in case you weren't aware of it in episode 69 the 2014 Remaster dub desyncs by a little after the half way break in the episode. I didn't check every audio track in that episode so I'm not sure if this happens for every track but I figured it be worth letting you know.

@The-good_Man1994 5.1 track was a manual sync that passed general QC, so I don't know what to tell you there. We're doing the movies from the ground up so don't worry about the old syncs. @Oosik Movies will be 16:9 as the source we're using is the Toei Remasters. @mitchevan1 Thanks, apparently this is a FUNi issue (the sfx and lip flaps are desynced on their actual remastered release for both tracks). One of our guys (ergiman) went in and used Orange Brick tracks to manually fix the syncs. In addition I took the opportunity to fix the broken recap on the OG dub track, so I released a full v4 along with the indivudual elements in the fixes folder.
@iKaos Just curious to know, when could we expect your Dragon Ball GT release to come out?
@Harvey_Plissken alot of moving pieces when it comes to GT so we cant give you a decent time frame. when its done itll be released asap.
What about the movies please?
@iKaos Just a heads up: In the Full v4's folder in mega, I think you added one too many 9's at the beginning of ep 69's CRC.
Forgive me if this is something you get asked a lot, but will there be a 1080p version of your Dragon Box masters for the whole trilogy?
@iKaos You're welcome just trying to be a helpful viewer and that's interesting Funi messing things up yet again when will they learn lol. Thank you to you and ergiman for taking the time to fix the problems it's much apricated.
@Harvey_Plissken Upscaled content is not allowed on nyaa. Nor will I ever be encoding a upscaled Dbox for iKaos.
I know I've asked about the movies, but really how's the progress with them please?

@tomux123 In progress. You should join the Q&A Discord for updates.
This is still the greatest, can't believe it's been over 2 months now!
Holy cow! This is absolutely top. Is there a way to get these edited subtitles (for reference)? I never have seen subs this explicit for this series.
Dragon Box Merge in a shellnut: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zwBwMhhjVFs
Why do I get this redundancy check error when I download this?
Finally done seeding! Almost took me a month to achieve 2.00 ratio!
Not Dragonball but Toriyama/Toei Related - are there also Broadcast Versions of Doctor Slump (the 80s show) out there? Would be cool to watch both shows from this shared universe.
@iKaos, you deleted your old DBZ [9 seasons]
I deeply apologize if I'm bothering you about this, but will I be able to put these masterpieces onto blank Blu-Ray discs without losing quality?
@kakarot he didn't delete them. They are just hidden and this torrent is replacing the older Season releases, because those are outdated.
@Harvey_Plissken Yeah of course. Maybe not AS MANY episodes per disc as other SD BDs from Discotek, but you can can probably do 1 arc per disc if you do BD50s
@Harvey_Plissken You could, and you can, but you're gonna need at least 21 BD50s if you want to do the entire series. BD50s hold 46.5 gigs of data, at most you can squeeze 14 episodes onto a disc, so it's 21 BD50s if you want to just do it as parts and not worry about the story arcs. If you break it down by story arcs, you'd need 26, which is how I have it broken down for my burned Blu-Rays. @Venny The only way you're squeezing a whole arc onto a BD50 is if you're removing all but 1 audio and subtitle track, then running it through Handbrake, to compress it down from about 2.6 gigs an episode to about 1.25 gigs which at that point ruins the whole point of having the merged video and the grain that's intact from it being sourced from the Dragon Boxes. If you can figure out a way to put the Saiyan Arc which is 108 gigs, onto a single BD50 that holds 46.5 gigs, more power to you!
Hi! A quick question. If Toie Animation releases a Blu-Ray of Dragon Ball 1986 to 1989 in 1080p, will you upload it?
@FilipinoGrandMaster I don't think they would, unless it's a marked improvement over the merged Dragon Box. Toei has already put out a Blu-Ray of the movies which have a bunch of issues, which is why the SoM version of the movies is being sourced from WEB-DLs instead of the Japanese Blu-Rays.
Hey iKAOS thanks for the great upload have to download by series because there is not enough room on my hardrive.I have one other question to anybody reading this does anyone have the dragonball kai dvd iso's would love to add them to this outstanding release. Thanks.
this is shit quality , the file big reason is too much radio, but is english , i found one is chinese https://nyaa.si/view/1388198 quality is better ,if you already download this just download both ,and use mkvtoolnix change the sub

@Snoopy419 Get the fuck outta here, bro. A corner anime site on the outskirts of the internet is too far for you CCP propagandists to be reaching. @Metaridley I was looking for Dr. Slump a bit ago. Someone is currently working through them 1 episode at a time. It should be finished in a few years. Looks promising. They are uploading them on Nyaa. @Everyone: This is currently the most active thread for dragon ball, so I have to ask; has anyone found all 27 episodes of Super's Bang Zoom! dub with the original video from Toonami Asia? They used to be up on this site for like a day. I'm missing Episodes 2, 3, 6 and 7.
@Snoopy419 has a point. BUT, I feel sorry for him because he treat Dragon Ball Series as an ordinary anime. Maybe He's 9 or 12 years old now and he never know what we feel about Dragon ball Series as a childhood anime buddy. iKAOS is uploading this, and I think this is the best of all DBZ here.
Is there a torrent for the fix folder? Mega is doo doo with its DL limits.
I dont know how anyone hasnt made a decent lower file size version of this yet. Someone please do it; been wishing for it for ages
@nouryoku Because making the files smaller would require compression, which can eliminate details that this release seeks to keep intact. iKaos and the SoM group will eventually release their own smaller version of this, but that will more than likely come after GT and The Movies have been released.

iKaos (uploader)

User
@Mewsey85 I intend to do one once I'm sure there aren't any more fixes needed. Fix reporting has slowed down so I assume it might come soon. @nouryoku This is meant to be an archival release. I assume people have taken me at my word that I will eventually release a more smushed down version of this, however as BlasterChief noted it will probably not come for a bit.
Can anyone help me out i am looking for the funimation dragonball kai dvd iso's because i would love to add them to the collection.
this looks like a DBZ fan's dream come true :) i would love to download this, but unfortunately, i dont have the space on my laptop, and, I downloaded his earlier seasons before this release came out, and the audio skipped and wasn't in sync with the video, and I'm afraid the same problem would happen with this release... i currently have the DBNL and the bluury releases which, thankfully, don't take up too much space on my external hard drive and sd card, but I admit, i miss the original Funimation audio... sadly, from what I've come across from scouring the internet, the majority of the funi audio releases are either out of sync with the video, or missing the intros and outros. i just wish, for once, someone could create a version of this show in the original 4:3 aspect ratio, 480p, x264, with just the original funimation score. I'm not saying everyone would want it, but for some, it's beautiful nostalgia, and maybe it's something they might need in today's depressing society

iKaos (uploader)

User
@SuperKal > i just wish, for once, someone could create a version of this show in the original 4:3 aspect ratio, 480p, x264, with just the original funimation score I mean that's what's on this release, if your issue is space then that's not really the fault of the other audios. Even with just the one track it would still be well above 800GB in size.
@iKaos Please don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to insult the work you put into this, because this is an awesome release... I just remember when you were releasing the seasons individually, I had that audio issue. I'm pretty sure it has something to do with the bluray player I have... but you brought up something that I'm confused about: I've seen other 480p releases of DBZ that are smaller in size. Even with one audio track, what makes this release so large?

iKaos (uploader)

User
@SuperKal read the attached PDF in the video section of the description, it's also in the Discord server.
@BlasterChief Yeah that is true.
Thanks, but 3GB per ep is totally nonsense.
guys, if you really want a quality release with the specific dub of your preference, just buy a fuckin hard drive for like $40 and download it. What's the big deal about space? You clearly have enough money for a computer and internet. A hard drive is not that unreasonable to obtain. Go on Amazon. TB hard drives are waaaayyyy cheaper than they were a few years ago and they don't even require their own power source anymore.
@iKaos this release is a dream come true Thank you!! I'm about to start downloading but before I do will it be another ver. with fixes? I only have a month of VPN left but if i need to add a extra month if need to. If so what is ETA on this?

iKaos (uploader)

User
@Gradius read the PDF that explains why the episodes are the size they are, it exists for that reason. There are an abundance of smol encodes of DBZ on Nyaa if you're short on space. @supremessj All the fixes are in the attached fix folder, while it can be assumed that a v4 will come out eventually (given TeamMirolo has released updated audio), I would not expect it any time in 2021.
@iKaos Thanks for the reply gonna start download and seed as long as i can thanks! NICE WORK!! 1 more question, any ETA on the movies?
this is how you do a fucking batch wowee
This is unreal. Thank you to everyone who worked on this.
if someone here is disappointed by colors and wants to do white balance on them, you can find here a tutorial made by Enigmo using Vegas 18 Enjoy it https://www49.zippyshare.com/v/kwMqGZoY/file.html
@uploader VSFilter shouldn't be used anymore. I believe it's also included within k-lite codec pack. http://codecguide.com/download_kl.htm Use AssFilterMod instead it's superior against VSFilter: https://www.videohelp.com/software/AssFilterMod Run the .bat to install the DLL on your machine and you're good to go to use in MPC, PotPlayer and so forth. ___ MPC: Open player > press the letter O on keyboard (or go to options) > Under Playback > Output > Subtitle Renderer PotPlayer: Open player > press F5 (or go to preferences) > Filter Control > Filter Priority (Overall) > Press the Add registered filter > Find AssFilterMod and select it > In the Custom FIlter Manages box select AssFilterMod and look bottom-right to the Priority box and select "Prefer". ___ Note: You may have to temporarily turn it off if you watch any stuff that uses PGS or VobSubs subtitles as you may not see subtitles being displayed on screen. On MPC just select "Internal Subtitle Renderer". On PotPlayer select it and either uncheck it or in the Priority box select "Block".
1tb for fucking zillions audio? and 480p shit? get lost!
What is the point of encoding at this file size? Wish it was raw video:( and where is the 'Plan to Eradicate Saiyans' Ova?

iKaos (uploader)

User
@Odokar Thank you for your constructive comment. There's a version with no dubs linked in the description. @Funkanzenta3CeLL Read the PDF https://dombito.github.io/mergeproject/R1R2.pdf that goes into the process behind the video, look at the comparison screenshots, and then read the FAQ, if it still doesn't make sense then I don't know what to tell you but there are plenty of other Z encodes out there if you don't have storage. OVA will be with the movies.
Where can i download sub only?
This release is almost perfect. Video and audio quality are top notch and probably the best the series will ever look and sound. The amount of audio tracks included is also fantastic and gives viewers so many options. I also appreciate the majority of the script changes, In fact, I like literally all of them except for one that really bothers me... The fact that you use "cyborg" as a replacement of "artificial human" is simply incorrect. A "cyborg" is NOT the same thing as an "artificial human". A cyborg is a human which has been modified with artificial parts, they are NOT entirely artificial. Rather than "jinzouningen", in Japanese a cyborg would typically be referred to as a "kaizouningen", which can be translated as "modified human". A better translation of "jinzouningen" would be "android", since the word "android" refers to a robot which is made to appear human, but is actually entirely synthetic. Essentially, an "artificial human". Now, I realize that many of the "jinzouningen" in the show are later revealed to actually be cyborgs and not be entirely synthetic, but by referring to them as cyborgs from the beginning, you are depriving the viewer of that story reveal later on. Of course, Cell also calls himself a "jinzouningen", despite not being synthetic... and not really looking very much like a human, either. However, this is a minor point, and can be explained by Dr. Gero programming his computer to instruct Cell on what he is supposed to be, even if it's not true (just like he did with the rest of the jinzouningen, who are in-reality kaizouningen). In any case, I hope if you update this batch, you will consider changing the word "Cyborg", since it's simply not accurate to what they're saying in Japanese.

iKaos (uploader)

User
@vigorousjammer The cyborg thing was a result of a couple of misconceptions regarding Toriyama's use of the term, it has since been corrected in DB and GT to "androids", and will also be corrected in our eventual update to this release.
Excellent release, after having DB Kai as my main source (due to quality) I forgot how much was cut out and having to put up with those god awful redrawn scenes ruin it. This has to be the best quality full version of DBZ i've seen to date. Although I am not a fan of the grain, so just for fun I decided to run some eps through Topaz AI upscale to remove grain, double the resolution, and some other tweaks to ensure it does not look over processed and source detail remains intact. As this release is such high quality the results are imo damn incredible: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1YIqDdUlnQLCXPShPIDXF1cqIR4YmWCLQ/view?usp=sharing https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Ri-TZ0z6T4--V0N8ZadbNpR2ITfNhEBh/view?usp=sharing https://drive.google.com/file/d/1VbUAnF97Zw3KtFu71Uzj5UJfRwr3VkBi/view?usp=sharing
I always return here to enjoy the people literally offended that someone would /dare/ upload encodes with such file sizes, as though Nyaa was a hard drive with limited space and this torrent is using it all up. 1TB of HD space is cheaper than a single DBZ DVD back in the day, and you can store this entire series on it in better quality than the official distributors ever gave you. It may take months to download for you, fair enough, but a series this size also takes months to watch, generally. If you're a fan, this is for you. Otherwise, move along. Thanks again to you all for putting in all the work and sharing this without compromising the encode by trying to save a few dollars of hard drive space.
@supra21 bro, your work upscaling and processing the chapters is amazing, are you thinking, to share your project or is it just a test?
godly work here thank you so much and the comments lmao there are so many of em
hope you backed up the description lmfao
fooled jysze for 5 months straight

@JuanSenseiZStar Thanks! For now its just a test to see how it looks. I'll upload some clips later.
any metadata naming software to use for this torrent?
@iKaos, I have a MKVToolNix application. I want to to make DBZ a DUAL AUDIO. Which English Dub is Better? ..is this a perfect match?? THANKS 1989 Mono Tokai Broadcast Audio [iKaos/AnimeMaakuo/Kei17] - FLAC 2007 5.1 FUNi Remastered Dub (Kikuchi Score) - AC3
I've been looking for something akin to what utsukushii raws were releasing before they stopped for some reason... Although I'd much rather download a release with around 1gb per episode, the main reason I'll avoid this one is the inclusion of all the dub stuff... They bloat the release for something I've no interest in... Wouldn't it have been much better to make a separate torrent with the dub tracks for Americans who are interested in them? Most DBZ fans aren't even American... (I'm not) Maybe a wish for v4. Also it'll make fixes easier on your side. If you got to fix the audio, just make a new release of the audio torrent Even a 10% decrease in overall size is huge for a torrent this big

iKaos (uploader)

User
@perrin4869 > Wouldn’t it have been much better to make a separate torrent with the dub tracks for Americans who are interested in them? Most DBZ fans aren’t even American… (I’m not) We tried that, it's right here: https://nyaa.si/view/1331090 Wouldn't you know it barely has any downloads/seeds because even though you would think there would be demand for it, most people have FOMO so they download this one instead even though it's literally identical minus the dubs.
@iKaos Well I'll be damned! Yeah that's what I am looking for :) I usually order results by number of seeders, and because that one has zero it probably never popped up... Maybe people just aren't aware it exists because it doesn't pop up in their search results?
@iKaos Just out of curiosity, some 10 years or so ago people were extracting the openings and endings into separate videos and then using mkv chapters to put them together. I haven't seen any releases in the more recent years do that anymore. Any insights into why that might be? I was thinking that that could reduce the size of this torrent significantly too (my NAS would be most grateful for that)
the openings rarely change but the endings always have different credits plus i dont think that would work right with the neps
Ah right the credits! Thanks @ethan2awesome!
Can some please confirm which Specials SP1 and SP2 are? The amount of different info across wikis is very confusing.

@Xarano The Bardock and Trunks Specials, aka "Bardock The Father of Goku" and "The History of Trunks".
Even though it's standard definition I guess it's watchable. Sadly every version of DBZ has its own issues, this version is SD, has color issues (pink skin color) and lots of filler.
Please provide the sub files only. Thanks in advance
This is a best dbz version, but i can sync my languages dub... mega link not best, only 25gb a limit a free user. it would be nice if the sound could be downloaded separately next time.
So heavy for the actual "X265 HEVC 10 BIT" era, even for a 480p dvd rip that is suppused to be lighter than the original dvd but this is a DVD weight per espisode. The color image and japanesse audio are great (LAT folks do not like english DUB because is a mesh), in general when you watch it on a 1080p screen all the image noise become more noticeable but has his charm. Is also suitable for TV box viewers if you have an exclusive 1 TB SSD but is possible that a DVD on a BR player pluged to a TV capable of upscaling and image corrections is a better option (you can always find cloned DVDs in some Street markets or .iso on the WEB). Go into this torrent if you can afford a pendrive/SSD and want a high quiallity video with a nice vintage look.
There are quite a few comments like "only 480p?" or "standard def, wtf?". Guys, this show came out in the 80s. The upscales they did were never good or complete. Kai sucks and has drawings made with crayon by children. This is the best source. This is as good as it gets. The original cels they drew on are warped now. Read.
Is there any good torrent with just the english dub and american soundtrack?
@Misakatron You can follow this tutorial and run this tool in the background and take out any audio or subtitle tracks you don't want https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2YUadBMQFRc
