**How to play** :
AV1 is a fairly new format and therefore has still playback and performance issues, especially with 10bit content.
It’s suggested to use MPV (https://mpv.io/) or the latest VLC Nightly (https://nightlies.videolan.org/build/win64/).
If VLC is lagging: Try increasing the “File caching (ms)” to e.g. 1000ms.
Minimum CPU requirements: 2nd Gen i5 and higher. Newer mobile devices should be able to play AV1 using VLC.
Performance improvements from the decoder are still work in progress.

It has taken me a bit longer than expected due to weird bug we discovered inside the encoder itself. There was a specific scene in episode 10 that crashed the encoder no matter what we did. We fed it Y4M stream, reencoded it in a lossy and not lossy format etc. In the end it was the content itself that crashed the encoder. Then I pinpointed the commit on github that started the crash. Apparently it had to do with forward keyframes, so we started to play around with those settings. Finally one of the members suggested to use maximum keyframe distance (we don't use it because it lowers efficiency, so while quality is the same, file size is like 1% bigger or so, highly dependent on the video itself) and we set it at 240. This fixed the issue. This is a temporary solution, but should be good enough for now, because otherwise we would need to use a build that is over 2 months old.
