Whats the difference between this and the old one?
@Archer0034 New encode for both show and movie and extras included
I hope this isn't bit rate starved. I compared AnimeTime's 1080p encode to my archived CBM 720p encode and everything was looking visually better until I did a screen comparison of a motion heavy scene with fast movement. AnimeTime's release got rather pixelated looking, CBM's was clear and still detailed. I generally like your encodes though, so thanks.
>I hope this isn’t bit rate starved. It is. Every mini encode release is bit-starved to a certain extent
I can't spot any differences in this and Reaktor's encode. I'll get this one since it is slightly bigger so maybe better lol. Thanks.
Thank you for this batch!
is it true that you can get away with a lower bitrate with hevc?
nevermind. googled it
@revans68 of course. HEVC gives more for less.
does anyone know why ep. 2 has such bad audio? I've tried different sources and they are all like that. sound is very hollow.
Ok, so I did a few lossless screen comparisons of the first episodes between this release and CBM's older 720p release. https://slow.pics/c/UZgzDmsZ CBM's encode has better background details, in dark scenes especially, and DB's encode has better clarity of line art detail on the characters and some foreground objects. Overall, I'd say that CBM's old 8bit 720p release still holds up quite nicely and is the better deal here video quality wise. OZC's subs on this release have better typesetting and fonts compared to the PGS subs though.
Hello nyaa! This is gonna be my first time watching Cowboy Bebop (i know, forgive me) and I’ve been looking at all the torrents and also read the comments and I really can’t decide which should I download....... if any of y’all happened to watched the different encodes here on nyaa, can you guys help me which encode should I download??? Thank you guys in advance
@torrent18 CBM's 720p release is very good if you don't have much storage space to spare, but if you want the best quality release of the series, then you can just grab CTR's release. https://nyaa.si/view/849544 CTR's release uses Fussoir's encoded videos, which are the best done for the series that I know of. The best encode for the movie is probably REVO's.
@DoktorWeiss Thank you for the recommendation... but how about the 720p release of CTR? https://nyaa.si/view/849653 How does it compare to CBM?
I didn't even know Fussoir did a 720p encode. CBM is a pretty good encoder, but who knows, Fussoir's release may be better.
https://slow.pics/c/PW8HiF4R I did a few comparison screens between the two encodes. Both are great high quality and solid 720p releases, but Fussoir's video encode does have slightly better detail compared to CBM in every screen except for the 5th comparison. The 5th comparison is the biggest difference between the two, and I'm actually surprised that Fussoir's encode has so much better detail in that frame. There might be plenty of other frames in that episode, and other episodes, that have a substantially higher level of detail in Fussoir's encodes. Most of these frames go by pretty fast though, so most people wouldn't notice the difference during normal viewing anyway. Also, Fussoir's encode is very slightly cropped, probably to stabilize the video(film jitter), and it has the modern day preferred 10bit colors instead of 8bit like CBM. It also uses OZC's better sub fonts and typesetting compared to the subs straight from the blu-ray. All in all, I'd say that CTR's release with Fussoir's video is superior.
@DoktorWeiss thank you for the info btw do you happen to know which evangelion should i download? i'm planning to download the whole series with DC and all the movies including the rebuild
this and reaktors are the best encodes for Cowboy Bebop
also this one with CTR source https://nyaa.si/view/1250482
why is there damn 5 different sub tracks
