**Note:**
Please be careful with Episode 38 – “Cyber Soldier Polygon”. This is the infamous “Pikachu shock” episode that caused several seizures in Japanese viewers when it aired and caused the show to be put on hiatus. If you have issues with epilepsy, we recommend not watching altogether. Please make sure to watch in a brightly lit room and don’t be too close to the screen.

#### [About SOS Subs]
We are a small, Sailor Moon focused, translation group, dedicated to providing as highly accurate translations as possible. We have translated all original Sailor Moon musicals and the live action series. Please check them out at [SeaofSerenity.Net](https://seaofserenity.net/)
Well THAT was unexpected O_o So many half-finished versions of the early episodes and then you guys suddenly come in and release the entire thing in one go... But hey, considering how inconsistent the pre-BW era of the show is in terms of what's subtitled and by who, this is absolutely appreciated. And looking through the notes, it certainly does seem like you knew what you were doing, even though I can't say that I agree with all of your translation choices. But oh well; I'm the one who's always telling other people to let US translate in the way we think is best, so it would be incredibly hypocritical of me to attack you guys for doing the same.
Thank you!!!!! I've been waiting for this for more then a decade! Got super into original subbed Pocket Monsters from Edwardk's subs back in 2009 but they eventually slowed down and stopped. I cannot wait to watch through! THANK YOU AGAIN! This is the most excited I've ever been for a release on Nyaa!
Any complaints about video, why its hardsubbed, etc. please send to the email in the description. I'm sure Satoshi's Mom would appreciate any help on the project she can get. I was just asked to upload the torrent.
You are welcome to join SOS's discord but we are mainly a Sailor Moon community and the translator does not use Discord. I can try to answer any questions if you have them!
I think episode 55 goes between episodes 59 and 60 according to [Pocket Monsters Encore](https://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Pocket_Monsters_Encore) (http://pokeani.s47.xrea.com/s-title/subtitle-encore.html).
@AwfulCaps
"Fierce Battle! Pokemon Dolls’ Festival" and "Children’s Day! Everyone Gather Around" were originally intended to air on March 3, 1998 and May 5, 1998, respectively.
The following eight episodes can fit perfectly between that timelapse without losing chronological order. That's how Pocket Monsters Encore re-aired them.
| EP | Title | Planned broadcast |
| :---: | :---:| :---: |
| 050 | Fierce Battle! Pokemon Dolls’ Festival | **March 3, 1998** |
| 051 | Guardi and Kojirou | March 10, 1998? |
| 052 | Kamonegi’s Sitting Duck | March 17, 1998? |
| 053 | Who Keeps Togepi!? | March 24, 1998? |
| 054 | Fushigidane’s Mysterious Garden | March 31, 1998? |
| 055 | Police Pup Guardi | April 7, 1998? |
| 056 | Shutter chance for Pikachu | April 14, 1998? |
| 057 | Pokemon Certification Exam!? | April 21, 1998? |
| 058 | Secret of the Care Centre | April 28, 1998? |
| 059 | Children’s Day! Everyone Gather Around | **May 5, 1998** |
*THANK YOU SO MUCH*........... Satoshi's Mom ! And I mean it. It's wonderful.
This is the best gift you could give to humanity
(and by that I mean geeks that already did social distancing as a hobby)
during these very dark times that we live in the world right now with covid19....
THIS is all a pokénerd could dream of. Thank you so much !
hmm, a lot of hardwork need to be appreciated. i saw some comments who shown a bit problem with HARDSUB. If the host share the SOFTSUB, there's vurnerable place that the other repost / re-host website will use this fansub (u can said it's pirating this original fansub). Yeah no matter it's hardsub or softsub, all i want is to watch Pokemon anime in english sub & japanese dub. In my opinion, the original english DUB has so much mistranslating, a bit misunderstanding of stories, lot of UNNECESSARY censored pic/translation stat ruins overall conclusion of this anime, cringe dub sound & the english dub sound cant reach the meaning through the original japanese stories, and some of you may describe more than that. I hope there'll be another english Sub at the other incomplete sub like Orange League & Advanced Generation. Thxx once again
I emailed the translator a question about the spellings for the romaji pokemon names: "First of all thank you so much for your hard work completing these subs. Watching the full Indigo League story in Japanese for the first time has truly been a joy. I don't speak Japanese so I don't have much to say about the translation, but I do wish you had just used the official Game Freak romaji for the Japanese names of Pokemon. I skimmed through some of your pdf and saw you put a lot of thought into the translation, but... seeing "Needorino" in the subs doesn't really get the etymology of the word across to the audience and I wish it could just be "Nidorino". For example I don't think "oh, this pokemon name came from the word Needle" when I see "Needorino". Other cases like Nusshi, Starmy, and Ungeller just seem super unnecessary when there are officially recognized romaji of these names. Just something to consider. Also, of course I wish we had soft subs and better video quality, but those things I can live with for now!" And this was their reply:
>It's been considered and explained in the filenote why these choices have been made and not the official Gamefreak ones which are likely more to do with copyrighting rather than a properly considered "this is the official romanisation" (since a Japanese person has no use for this beyond) as several are illogical from an English-perspective or outright wrong (Shaymin is a good example of this as there is actually no "n" in the Japanese at all").
It is necessary for the purposes of the translation. Trust and believe every choice in this translation has been thought through.
My reply: "I think regardless of which translation is more "thought through" (which is subjective) the official ones should be preferred as they are more centralizing and more recognizable. They should have at least one use to Japanese people: centralizing the name they see on official merchandise and literature.
But I know it's a lot of work to change it so no worries. You have no obligation to change it. I'll let the nyaa boards know your answer on this.
Again thanks for the release." So they're a little dismissive of criticism, hence the need to hardsub I guess. ¯\\\_(ツ)_/¯ oh also I agree with that person that said flamethrow should be flamethrower and the person that said move names should be capitalized normally not in all caps.
Their translation note explains all their choices. Complaining about these minor details are just going to make them not want to bother dude.
Sounds less like them being dismissive and you being kind of annoying.
>Their translation note explains all their choices.
I explained that I read through some of the pdf. I'm just one person sharing his criticism—if two emails sharing my opinion annoys the translator enough to stop working on the translation, there's not much I can do about that. I think if you're going to post your work online for everyone to see, you should be prepared to receive feedback on it.
But their translation note literally anticipates and discusses all your "feedback" at length and your feedback just amounts to "you should spend hours fixing minor shit because i don't like it personally" for something they already explained. That's just rude, pointless and entitled. You could have easily just been grateful that they did something people were waiting 20 years for and leave it at that...
If the translator sees this, ignore this guy. The translation is great and I hope you continue.
Well, they didn't explain "loupgaragan" in the pdf. And those explanations are fine, but it just seems strange to call Game Freak's choices illogical and then go and make a choice like "Nusshi" (for example) because it's a combination of "nuts" and "yasshi". I get it, they want the meaning of the kana to come through, but I feel like at some point you have to give way to pronunciation and in some cases, familiarity (obviously not talking about the references to real people like Cayce here). "Nu" doesn't produce the correct syllable in english or japanese (it should sound like "nasshi"). And I'm not angry about this—we should be able to have a discussion about things like this like adults without attacking each other. I never asked them to "fix" anything--I was pretty clear about how I valued the translator's time and how I actually DON'T expect them to change the names. But, if my feedback came off as rude or negative, I apologize. And, again, I want to thank the translator for all they've done.
It honestly sounds more like whining to me and it’s not me you should apologize to, it’s the translator for wasting their time with all these trivial emails.
Just read the PDF file and was cracking myself up! Thanks a lot for your hard work, Satoshi's Mom! Would love to see Johto some day! Doesn't matter if it's not soon, we waited so long for this batch, we can wait a little bit longer for the next one ;-) Just rest up and recover for now if that's what you need.
@hikarisama this release is amazing and i loved it alot and i understand why you have used hardsubbed and not softsubbed but is it possible if you can send me the softsubs as i was working on a project to release here on nyaa to have all pokemon seasons soft subbed so people can watch without subs and with subs but i couldnt find any website which provides subs for all 82 episodes mostly they r only till 52 episodes netflix subs but those subs dont match with the raw version and i dont want to change the subs as it will take alot of time , once i release on nyaa i will credit you, you can contact me on turabsyedhassan@gmail.com
Well now, this looks familiar... Glad to see that you decided to finish at least the "first season" and release it to the public.
Hopefully now the curse is lifted and SoS (or someone) will sub the rest of the original series once and for all.
