Synopsis:
Bong Joon Ho brings his work home to Korea in this pitch-black modern fairytale. Meet the Park Family: the picture of aspirational wealth. And the Kim Family, rich in street smarts but not much else. Be it chance or fate, these two houses are brought together and the Kims sense a golden opportunity. Masterminded by college-aged Ki-woo, the Kim children expediently install themselves as tutor and art therapist, to the Parks. Soon, a symbiotic relationship forms between the two families. The Kims provide "indispensable" luxury services while the Parks obliviously bankroll their entire household. When a parasitic interloper threatens the Kims' newfound comfort, a savage, underhanded battle for dominance breaks out, threatening to destroy the fragile ecosystem between the Kims and the Parks.
Uploader Notes:
Was looking for a good encode of this movie on the scene with the retail PGS subs and couldn't find one so I sourced a bluray remux and did my own encode. This is a high bitrate 2pass encode mainly because I absolutely hate compression artifacts in live action movies. The video looks virtually identical to the 32 gig bluray remux. The PGS subs are from the HKG bluray and not the shitty OCR'd typo ridden SRT prevalent in every scene release. Audio is not converted to FLAC mainly because Dolby Atmos to FLAC is not a lossless conversion due to the height channels in Dolby Atmos using object based encoding. It is possible to pass the height channels into FLAC without converting them but at that point the file size difference is marginal because TrueHD is fairly efficient at losslessly compressing. I also chose scene naming conventions for the file mainly because my live action movie collection is all scene releases.

>Retail English PGS subtitles from the HKG Blu-ray OCR'd and spellchecked
>French PGS subtitles OCR'd and spellchecked
>Chapters demuxed from source
I mainly encoded my own because I wanted the retail PGS subs and not OCR’d SRTs and I also prefer fully loseless audio for my live action movies. I mainly just uploaded my own encode because releases of this film are lacking on public trackers and other releases didn't have the PGS subs.
I'm sure ZQ's release is fine but it still lacks the PGS subs I know most people don't care what format the subtitles are in but I prefer to have the PGS subs mainly to just avoid typos, scene groups I've found aren't the best at spellchecking OCR'd scripts which is why I'd rather just have the PGS because then I know it doesn't contain typos.
I simply prefer PGS to SRT it's partly a paranoia thing and partly because PGS looks much cleaner in video players. I don't know if an OCR'd SRT contains typos which is why I prefer the PGS file hence why I view it as a paranoia thing. I'm by no means saying ZQ contains typos just paranoid.
>because PGS looks much cleaner in video players
hahahhahahaa what? PGS is literally scaled bitmaps. They look garbage, and are often even piss-coloured to top it off.
