Video Source: US BDMV
Subs: BDMV PGS
Uploader Notes: An encode of the recently released Boogiepop Phantom Bluray. Video was downscaled to 720p as the source was fairly blurry, so it makes far more sense to just let the video player handle upscaling in order to save space. The video source looks much better than the DVDs and unlike a few of my previous releases this one has not been denoised or filtered in anyway and this release is nearly transparent to the source. No screenshots this time because it takes me too much time to prepare.

Whilst in general it does look sharper, when it comes to detail in dark areas it loses out against Fussoir’s DVDrip.
Now, whether that is due to the source or the encode, I cannot say.
