Either way, I appreciate anyone who goes through the trouble to do even a faster, less detailed typeset since so many official sources do nothing. It’d be awesome if we had a unique pair of translators and typesetters to work on almost every show this season. Maybe one day. Translators are the bottle neck though as anyone can learn to typeset pretty quickly.
it’d probably still takes you months or maybe even a year to learn to typeset well, and you can’t really do it on your own. so i wouldn’t say it’s quick at all. definitely the hardest part of fansubbing other than translation.
If your standard is absolute perfection, then sure. But with a lot of advice from some very helpful people I’ve learned a lot in only 3 months. It doesn’t take that much to reach a level that surpasses even the best Crunchyroll has to offer, never mind the completely non-existent typesetting of Funimation, Sentai, Netflix and Amazon. Naturally people who have been doing this longer than I’ve been watching anime will have higher standards and better skills, but everyone starts somewhere, and there’s not enough highly skilled people to sub/typeset everything.
you can beat CR in like a week. that’s not a very high standard at all. i’m not sure why i’m bothering with this when you clearly are out of your depth here.
@Malerious10 I am sorry for what I said earlier(deleted), though it is true, it is not helpful at all. so I suggest you just stick with what you do and try to improve with time

Oh you picked up Azur Lane? Nice.
Mad le Zisell took a couple, you a couple, I think Tensai took one too… I’m having good vibes about this season
Basheer33
they’re not good tho.
Marmotzel
Beggers can’t be choosers! Also, curios who’ll pick up the hyped animes this season
Malerious10
@Basheer33 I’m kinda curious why you said I’m not that good. Please tell me what you don’t like about my releases and what you want me to improve.

He may have been talking about Mad le Zisell.

In comparison to learning how to translate Japanese by ear? Way way way way faster.

You never end learning Japanese. I have been learning by ear for 10 years, and now Japanese in general at university for 5 classes.
the_swizzler
True, but at some point you will reach a level where you can translate by ear.

I just wish all the people typesetting things would also fix the regular subtitle timing
