You shouldn't use bright colors for outlines in subtitles, it's annoying to read. You don't need a \N on the second last image either... I'll grab this anyway and fix it up for myself to watch.

I started removing the line breaks an episode or two into the movie, probably too much really, so the lines are longer.
No problem. I am currently doing Alternative, just spent the last couple of days encoding it and it's just now finished, so I just have to do the subs now. Which will take a while. A fair while.
I do not recommend these subs. They were pretty much the first time I ever worked with subtitles so they're awful. The subs i'm doing for Alternative will be a bit better though.
I haven't finished Alternative yet and that won't happen for a while, but here's Progressive:

No problem. Slowly working my way through Alternative, sorry it's taking so long. Currently done ~1600 lines out of ~3000 so right around halfway through.
Hey applqpak, thanks a lot for the subs.
I've made Alternative subs by ripping Adult Swim closed captions from the web and synching them to a 1GB raw rip I have. The whole process, including learning Sub Edit basics, took me about 4 hours; I'm telling you this because you seem to be doing an original translation? Maybe that effort is not really needed.

I am awaiting your Alternative subs. I've not watched Progressive or Alternative yet, I was waiting for them all to be subbed, but I plan to marathon FLCL, Progressive, Alternative once they are available. Thank you so much for your work so far, and I look forward to the Alternative release!

I've taken a, uh... very long break from doing the subs for Alternative, sorry. I just finished subbing the first K: Seven Stories movie myself, and have bettered my subbing skills (namely timing) immensely since I did this one IMO, I also sorta got the basics down for Mocha so signs will be leagues better also.
I feel like I could do Alternative some time soon.
What? Where? I couldn't find any subs at all except those hardcoded subs from AL and Tubi, which as I said in the description is where I took the translation from anyway.
CDJapan lists the BD Boxes as "Subtitles: None"?
Well.. I downloaded the BDMV for the first 3 movies and it had English subs. Encoded it too. That's where AL and Tubi got the subs to begin with. No idea why they hardsubbed. Waiting for the second BD box to be available to upload them all at once.
So yeah... awkward...

Either way source is from an official TL (I've edited some lines), with much better timing and arguably better styling. Would have saved me having to type out all the lines though lol
Thank you for doing these subs. I'm glad I got to watch FLCL Progressive, kinda sucks there are no decent subs for Alternative yet.
However, I picked up some mistakes in these subs during a casual viewing with my limited Japanese. Some names are mixed up, "back" instead of "bat" when referring to a guitar, using "it" instead of "he" when referring to Atomsk in one spot is confusing.
Good enough for a casual viewing, but if you are looking to figure out more of the story, and you don't know Japanese, I would wait for some different subs.
